There is one point that's really diminished the show for us. It's there being zero repercussions for the therapist dating a client. Sassy mentioned 'borderline unethical' when it came up, but that is FAR below what it is. It's rampantly unethical and his State's therapist board would revoke his license if they found out. My wife is in school for her therapist Master's and just had to do all the ethics classes. You have to wait five years until after you stop being their therapist to have any relationship with them.

Yup, that's all I could think of whenever it comes up. It's wildly unethical as a physician to start a relationship with a patient. "Wildly unethical" doesn't even begin to describe a marriage counselor dating one of their clients. It's straight up gross, and I while I don't want Ted to get back with her, I do hope there is a realization by her regarding how ****ed up the situation is.

Michelle realizes it and there was something in her eyes last night that she was glad Ted was pushing back on her. She knows she ****ed up and she's glad her sweet husband that she loved/loves is calling her out on it.

Jason Sudekis will win the emmy for that performance, FYI.

In what world does guilt or shame invoke a smile? I don't understand this angle at all. Happy he said something? Maybe but I don't see how that's the leading emotion.

No she's happy/proud that this guy she **** on finally stood up to her. She still loves him and wants him to confront her with the acknowledgement that she ahit on him. She's got her own ahit to deal with but at least she knows he's making a good first step

I don't think she still loves him. She wouldn't say it back to him at all. Their marriage is over. That doesn't mean that she isn't proud of him for standing up for himself.

I used to think Ted and Rebecca would end up together, but it's not really looking like that's where we are headed.

The book changes every episode and it usually relates to the theme of the episode, per Brendan Hunt.

Here's an analysis of the books in Season 1.

Love this show. Why did they have to introduce an alternative lifestyle into it.

Would rather see Keely in lingerie again.
Why did they have to introduce divorce?

Why did they have to introduce mental health issues?

Why did they have to introduce negative familial relationships?

Why did they have to introduce out of control egos?

........because life is more complicated than an ice cream social at the church. Life can be messy, complicated, and uncomfortable. You'll be OK.
Thanks for the words of inspiration.

Every show on TV has a gay or lesbian couple these days. Just tired of it being pushed in everyone's faces, that's all.

And this show didn't need that plot device. Some of us don't enjoy seeing two dudes suck each other faces.

I've always wondered if those people who are so easily offended by what they observe in media also take a moment to consider that they're just as easily influenced.

The reason they went to couples counseling and ultimately divorced is she could not "deal with his constant optimism". He always looked for the best in everyone and everything. This is Ted finally saying something is wrong/bad.

Look for this to translate into the rest of his life, the same way when he let his wife go in season 1 giving the mid game or pre game speech to the team.

Just caught up through episode 4 and what a season so far. This is quickly climbing up the ranks as one of my favorite shows

One thing I haven't seen talked about too much is Rebecca's comment to Rupert at the end of the match after seeing him and his assistant. My read is this will finally get her over the rage and hatred she has towards him and despite losing the match, she doesn't care about him anymore. Between that scene and her comments to him I think she realizes just how big of a POS he is and how it wasn't just her he did it to

Also, I was proud of Ted for finally sticking up to his ****** ex-wife and the stunt she pulled with the therapist. Really ****** (and illegal). It was refreshing to see him stick up for himself for once and finally release some frustration

I'm interested to see Nate's continued progression. I was a bit surprised at his remorse he has for leaving Ted and Richmond like he did. It seems to be catching up to him a bit. We'll see. Love this show!

All it is a little smirk from the ex-wife after the conversation. I also think it was her feeling something positive toward Ted, since he said in a previous season she was not a fan of him never getting angry. I just hope it's not opening the door for them to get back together.

There was a conversation early in the episode, I think it was Beard, telling Ted something about keeping all the stuff in was like a poison. Him telling her how he feels is probably going to lead to him being less of a "mess."

yeah I actually thought the only person who won in this episode was Rebecca. I still felt like Ted was too gentle and swallowing his anger. I thought Michelle was really just crying because she knows it was ****ty. people make wierd faces when they cry.

but Rebecca got closure..and dirt. Its not her being too old or anything she could have done differently, Rupert Is just a slimeball.

She technically already does, I think. He had some stipulation about ownership from the league and he loopholed it by marrying her.

For Ted, that small decision to tell her how he felt is monumental. It's too gentle for most of us, but since he never does it at all, I think it's a big deal.

I think he was only prohibited from owning Richmond as part of the divorce, and Bex was the loophole.

Sounds like he's part of a whole new ownership at West Ham

Funny, but unlikely.

Convo at Rebecca's father's funeral - Rupert intimates that he learned from his divorce with Rebecca. Speaking about his pending marriage with Becks (in the context of Becks owning a minority share of Richmond), Rupert says "Whats hers will be mine, and whats mine will... well, that will stay mine as well" or something to that effect.

So, almost assuredly, Becks is under a pretty strict pre-nup.

Yeah, West Ham is brand new. Bex bought 3% stake in Richmond with Rupert's money since Rupert couldn't technically own any of it. It was his way of trying to take back control of Richmond at the time

I feel they're really dumbing down the coaches this season. While Ted may be incompetent as far as soccer tactics go, I can't believe Beard and Roy are as well.

I hope that Jamie can get a few of his teammates to join him for the 4AM workout sessions.

I laughed at the Jerry Maguire homage.

Can't believe I felt a little bad for Nate this episode. F that guy.

Here's to hoping Rebecca gets here "****e it ninning armor" and her family.

I think Ted was the first one to move past Zava and realize they all lost themselves, will be interesting to watch how others find themselves again. Jamie is basically becoming Ted.

Beard's reassurance to Ted about his son was amazing.

Weakest episode of the season in my mind. At least we now have two side characters out of the way and plots and characters are setting up for the home stretch.
