And yet will in no way be worse than the live action one which i saw in the theater as a kid. I know my dad loved me because he hated video games, don't like the movies and yet still took me to see that pile of garbage and didn't make me feel bad about it.

I showed it to me 10 year old and he loved it. I think it actually looks like it could be pretty fun. Illumination typical entertains me.

May be dumb, but I'm seeing it. I though the Lego Movie was going to be dumb when it was first announced.

Also, love how they went with the Mario 64 font for the text. Good call with our generation now being the ones who are taking kids and such to see it.

Not really going to be for adults, but I'd hold off on calling it terrible. Nintendo is very careful with their IP (due in large part to what happened with the original SMB movie).

I'd bet this one is pretty polished.

I hardly ever see animated stuff in theaters (the older I get, the creepier I come across showing up with no kids), but I'll be there for this one.

Showed it to my Mario obsessed 10 year old.

He cannot get over Mario not having his usual overly cartoonish Italian accent.

He muttered something about Nintendo going woke and stormed off to his room.

I think it hits a billion as well. The best known game property in the world which is still wildly popular with kids, from a very successful animation studio, and will be nostalgic for people in their 30s-40s. Nevermind that Jack Black is pretty popular on YouTube/social media.

I'm not sure what the most successful video game movie is but that record is gonna be shattered.

I'm convinced they're gonna throw in some kart racing and maybe even some Smash Bros references. I noticed they did a bit of Luigi's Mansion at the end there, so I can see them putting in a ton of Nintendo references.

Also Donkey Kong is in it so there's that.

If only they didnt make a crap movie.

Coulda just done WC3 and followed the conquest of Thrall and Gromm fighting the demon to free the orcs. Epic shtt. but no we got mages and boredom.
