By the end of episode 6 I needed it to be over. I couldn't look away but I was so stressed.
Yeah ... we didn't need 66 minutes of that. Way over the top.Mozart Paintings said:

I disagree. Without that, we don't get to appreciate the development in the characters in the present. All the members of the Berzatto that we're familiar with were behaving a little bit differently in that episode than how we recognize them in the present story line. I think it goes to show just how much of a force (good and bad) Mikey was in his family. With him being gone, it makes sense why so many are lost as they looked to him for guidance, support, and leadership. Richie wasnt perfect in episode 6, but he didnt seem to be as much of an argumentative ass. He seemed to have filled that role once Mikey is gone as he feels that is what is needed to keep the restaurant going as that was the example Mikey set for all. Natalie was scared and timid around her mom. Present day she seems much more confident in who she is. Cousin Michelle recognizes Carmy would be better off without all the co-dependent members of his family and is trying to encourage him to keep his distance but he is lost in that christmas episode as he feels a need to be an emotional enabler for him mom while also feeling like he can take his skills to save Mikey's restaurant, which is what he is still doing in the present but with all reminders of the Beef disappearing more and more each episode.EclipseAg said:Yeah ... we didn't need 66 minutes of that. The family is dysfunctional. We get it.
As I said earlier, I would rather have seen some of that time devoted to Richie turning things around. He does a complete 180 in his outlook, demeanor, professionalism; etc. That needed more of an arc.

The Swift moment at the end (in the car) was awesome. I was cheering for him.Max Power said:
Episode 6 was great television, that cast, holy ****. I wouldn't say it stressed me out like the highs last season, it was just straight up uncomfortable, dramatic, and claustrophobic. Looks like mom is a full blown alcoholic with bipolar disorder to boot, that episode explained so much about the entire cast and show to boot. I might have enjoyed episode 7 as much as anything else this show has done, awesome episode for Richie. And another surprise in Olivia freaking Colman just popping in for a scene. This show is firing on all cylinders. I also think the music selections are so good as well, there was some instrumental NIN at the beginning of the episode with Carmen and Claire in bed that I picked up on, lots of fun needle drops at other points this season as well. I just appreciate everything this show is doing.
The launch of ‘THE BEAR’ Season 2 was 70% higher than Season 1.

Episode 7 will bring you to tears while playing Taylor Swift. Very impressive.

Two good seasons in the books. Not sure why, but Claire calling Richie "Cousin" bothered me. Way too early (and very cheesy).
Edit: Damn spoiler tags. Had it right the first time.

Just finished the season, they definitely stuck the landing.
Definitely up there with the best tv of the year with Succession. Not sure what else even comes close?
