Texas A&M baseball assistant coach Caleb Longley has tendered his resignation in pursuit of other endeavors.

Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball was the first to report the news, and TexAgs baseball analyst Ryan Brauninger has confirmed.

With Opening Day just 32 days away, Longley’s decision is not a surprise to head coach Michael Earley, who was prepared to adjust according.

Earley has moved swiftly to promote former A&M catcher and current Director of Hitting and Catching Development Troy Claunch to fill the vacancy.

Longley joined the staff in the summer of 2024 and has since served as the recruiting coordinator in addition to his hitting coach duties at A&M.

Last season, the Aggies hit 95 home runs, which is the third-highest total in program history. Additionally, Jace LaViolette earned All-American honors and was eventually drafted 27th overall by the Cleveland Guardians in the 2025 MLB Draft.

Prior to his arrival in College Station, Longley spent three seasons in the same role at the University of Texas, helping the Longhorns to three of the most productive offensive campaigns in the school's history.

The former East Tennessee State standout also served as an assistant at Arizona State with Earley under Tracy Smith in 2020 and 2021, helping train and develop the 2020 MLB Draft’s No. 1 overall pick Spencer Torkelson.

In addition to his on-field roles in college baseball, Longley is also the creator and CEO of MARV training, a unique, multi-dimensional training tool focused on hitting and arm care routines for sports across the country at the MLB, NBA and NFL levels.

A&M begins its 2026 campaign vs. Tennessee Tech on Feb. 13 at Blue Bell Park.

Really odd timing. But happy for Troy to get the shot
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

Well it's not like our offense was any good last year anyway, so... Don't love the timing of the move though.
