What money are you talking about? Did I miss something? All I remember is Chase wanting to fight and finally take down the enemy his country has been fighting since WWII (.i.e. Russia). He thinks this particular Afhhan guy is the one who can be successfull against Russia, but the CIA isn't going to commit fully to a proxy war via Afghan warloads nor of course an all out declared war. Hence, his frustration.

I have this memory that in explaining himself to someone (or maybe someone else was describing him? Maybe Lithgow to the nosy guy early on?), it is mentioned that he was supposed to deliver some money to a warlord who was not using it to fight the Russians, but rather keeping it, and as a result Bridges stole it back and went underground (taking the woman with him).

If Lithgow says it, he may be lying about the money for some reason.

I'll try to go back through the first two episodes when I get a chance.

I just skimmed through the first two episodes and I didn't hear anyone say anything about Bridges taking some money--just the woman.

Premieres on cable/FX on Thursday nights, then hits Hulu a few hours later Fridays at midnight pacific.

Not sure how I feel about this. I mean I really like the show. However, I figured with a star like Bridges it was only going to be a one season limited series. I've been watching with the expectation of some sort of conclusion with the final episode.

I like the concept of an anthology series. Seems to work for the various "American _____ Story" series on FX, but kind of hit or miss with "Fargo". For "True Detective", the momentum didn't carry past the first season. Almost like the writers' room is some giant gutter in outer space.

Hadn't clicked on this thread until tonight for some reason nor even heard of this show but man am I glad I did. Just finished the first episode and holy **** was that intense!! Avoided the rest of half of page 1 and hope it continues to be as badass as that.

edit: Just stayed up and blew through those three episodes with ease and can't wait for Thursday already. I'd be up until 10 am or however many episodes there are if this was all released at once. Also, Chris Partlow looks a lot different all these years later.

He seemed so much bigger in The Wire but I looked him up and he's only 5-10. Maybe it was because he was usually standing next to Snoop, and she was pretty tiny.

He actually looks pretty good considering the first/last time I saw him was on a show that debuted 20 years ago.
