I see your point, just wondering if somehow Chase doesn't even know or remember what his daughter does? There is a memory/loss of memory angle to all of this.

Boy did they do a great job of finding young actors to portray Lithgow and Bridges (especially Lithgow). A lot of times when shows portray younger versions it takes you out of the moment.

My only issue is with the second episode where they get pulled over and they do the tired trick of OMG he just shot them and her!!! It's cheap and they don't need to resort to that. I know they were trying to show what was going through his mind but maybe stop it after the two cops or just use a different technique rather than what amounts to a jump scare.

I think it was him going through the consequences in his mind. He realized that by shooting them, there was no way to avoid shooting her. So he chose to not do any of it. And BTW, sticking with her was sort of a mistake on his part, since that is how they apparently got their next step in tracking him down.

I get why they did it...I'm just saying it's a cliche way of showing it. Bridges is a great actor...let his face emote what's going on is his head and let audience follow along rather than go for the flash of "we just killed off the 3rd headliner of this series!!! Ha ha...psyche!!!

I can see both sides of the argument, but i thought it would have been a crazy twist and had no clue she was one of the shows leads. I was going into this show blind though.

Same. Once I heard her voice it was my immediate thought and from then on I just focused on her.

Kind of mad I read those spoilers because that hadn't hit me although it would have eventually. I hope. If not, I'm dumb.

Anyway, I loved the second episode as much as the first one. Just thought it was really well done.

Will echo others that the casting on young Lithgow may be some of the best casting I've ever seen on something like that. Incredible likeness and voice.

And Bridges is such an interesting guy to me - it always seems like he's on the verge of having Parkinson's or something like that in his movies. He has these weird tics and movements and you kind of can't tell if that is normal him outside of acting or if he's doing it on purpose in films.

Also, younger girl being attracted to older guy is more normal than you think so that angle didn't bother me at all. I had a girl 18 years my junior pursuing me for a while. And I have a friend who is 90 married to a 60 yr old. They got married when he was 60 and she was 30.

This show is so damn good.

Incredible reveal too, not done solely for the sake of surprise, but one that absolutely enriches the emotional stakes all around.

(I was certain the she's-his-daughter talk was wrong, but now I can't see it having gone any other way.)

How would Hazmad know to pick him if he wasn't somehow related (son, nephew, etc.) like Maeby is to our antihero?

He's also looks to be of similar age to Maeby.

This is a just a nitpick, but how would Maeby's character have passed a FBI background check unless Harper knows who she is?

Her father helped her pass her background check? Produced the necessary documents, pulled the necessary strings?

That's probably the exact question they want us to be asking right now.

Maebe had an FBI badge and she said "the CIA" rather than just "CIA". So does that mean they all work for the FBI? Did John Lithgow leave CIA for the FBI? Or is the show not thinking that hard and sorta mixing them all together?

Edit: and CIA doesn't call their own officers "agents" either. "Agents" are foreigners who give info to us.

Lithgow left the CIA for FBI and Maebe said he recruited her from Langley. Just poor/imprecise/muddled writing in a couple spots I think.

I predict that they escaped in large part because they found out Mrs. Hamzad was pregnant with Dan's baby. Which would obviously put all three of them in grave and immediate danger. We'll see.

Something I noticed in one of the full-season teaser videos.

There was a hand coming out when he opened the trunk, suggesting she isn't tied up. Somehow he convinces her to willingly hide in the trunk?

Did I understand this correctly from one of the first two episodes? Bridges was frustrated because the US kept giving money to corrupt warlords and so he stole the money?

I think that he thinks they are wrong about this particular warlord (at the moment). Later it appears he will change his mind.
