That's why I'm all in on it being Jaime. I first thought Roark because of his "they play dirty, we have to play dirtier", but like someone mentioned, mailing the package took more planning than he had time for. He still hasn't found out that the old man and his son are dead.

The old man mentioning bringing in additional help doesn't fly with the assassins. He was hired to make John make a mistake that they could go after him in court, not kill him.

And Beth, if she survives, will NEVER be able to hire another good assistant.

Jimmie's not dead, but maybe paralyzed (paralyzed barrel racer is an actual person, not an actor, as are many of the rodeo guys and horsemen). I still think the girlfriend and hot girl are up to something. She did mention that Jimmie beat her brother in bronc riding.

Walker is NOT undercover, but I think he's either up to something nefarious or will be a big redemption story when he saves Rip's life or something.

Have had the night to try to digest all that happened in the last 10 minutes.

I don't think Jamie is behind this - I took the phone call with Rip as Jamie cutting ties with the Duttons after the early meeting.

Possibly ME - after the discussion of the "Yemen Oil Deal" - the third-world business negotiating tactics.

Another thought I had was the family/business partners of the brothers from Season 2 coming back after the bloodbath from the Season 2 end. If I remember correctly, they were holed up with a militia group at the end when they kidnapped Tate and had the big shootout - could be the militia member's family or other members coming back for revenge (automatic weapons, cheap old van, bad shots, mail bomb (a la unabomber), etc.)

I expect Kayce to survive - training kicked in quick for him as former special forces guy (heard the auto gunfire and immediately jumped up and flipped desk for cover and was drawing gun - where others might hesitate, ask "what is that?" and stare at the door), and he and Rip will go Medieval on some folks, along with the other branded gang too.

We may also see an attack on Jamie to start the new season - left him un-attacked now to spur thoughts it was him, but he will get attacked possibly when leaving his office - maybe the attackers thought hitting the AG in his office - which would likely have better security and armed, trained officers around might be too much.

No matter what, it is going to be a long off-season...

My guess is the Jamie thing is supposed to get us thinking it was him but in reality he was just saving he was on the other said of the negotiations.

I can't imagine him bringing the wrath of Rip down on his own head by basically admitting that he had a hand in killing everyone.

One of the things that struck me about the episode was how there was a Beth/Jamie moment when she was leaving his office. She wants him to apologize. They just stood there. For me, after watching the video in the tweet I posted, the actors alluded to the fact that those two characters used to be close.

Something else that they are setting things up for...Kayce. I thought it was odd that the ranchers showed up. I mean, it felt like it was out of touch with the current story line. But there are two things to consider here.
1. Kayce still loves his brother Jamie. And I'm pretty sure that they are in the same office complex. Jamie is going to be the one to find him. And this is all going to freak him out and test his true loyalties.
2. Kayce is being setup to be governor. And I think John is likely going to be ready to play that hand and have the current governor ousted from scandal.

I think they all live. Why? Because like all of the ridiculousness that is this show..it's in the script.

Jamie's dad- "killing is the only gift we have!", leads me to believe he is in on the attempted take down of John and his " kill the King" statement.

I think Jimmy will be paralyzed because he foreshadowed that at the rodeo and John told him he wasn't paying anymore medical bills, but he will.

Beth makes it somehow, blast from bomb blows out towards the street so sparing her somehow, assistance not so much!

Kaycee will be fine, because he's just a badass!

I kept thinking as Rip stood there about to shoot the horse that we would hear a distance shot and Rip would drop like a rock, that's about the only thing that didn't happen.

Insane over the top possibility here...... Rip and Jamie are half brothers, same momma. Jamie's dad said he had a half brother somewhere.


Rips mom clearly was murdered I believe by his step father. . Yes rip killed his dad but it never said if it was his step dad or real dad (I believe that's right) interesting plot twist if true. I'm not sure who is older, rip or Jamie. Clearly rip would have to be for this to work

I keep seeing online mention an explosion on the ranch that was heard but not seen. When Monica was on the phone with Kayce apparently it happens. I didn't see that.

Anyone know if the horse that Rip came upon was shot or was he just lame ? I was thinking it was a setup to get Rip shot by a sniper. It was hard to tell what had happened to the horse.

It may not be all on Jamie, but I do think he at the very least knows. When Rip called him, he was freaking out because he couldn't get ahold of anyone and didn't know what was going on, and without flinching, Jamie just tells Rip he shouldn't call him anymore? Seems a little strange.

The only reason I think it wasn't Jamie is because he would have been smart enough to come for Rip too. The ME folks don't know what kind of pit bull they have coming after them after trying to kill (or kill) Beth. The ME people already had access to Beth's office. They didn't have to mail a package, they could've just had it put there.

I agree. It's just a little weird that there wasn't even a bit of concern when he was told the people who have been his family his entire life are all missing. Couple that with his dad telling him to kill the king and it sure looks like he was at least a part of it.

Earlier in the season Beth tells John that Jaime always does what's best for Jaime, and that John said he was counting on just that. Was this foreshadowing that Jaime would go rogue?

But as crazy as the show is, they'll probably set up Kasey vs Jaime for the Governor's race

Except that I know a guy who had to go to the bride's father grave to ask him for her hand in marriage. Still weird, but it happens. And he was getting that specific ring for Beth, so it's supposed to be romantic, except all the women in the room where we watched said "oh hell no, I wouldn't want a ring that was on a corpse".

People coming to get Kasey. Probably a door breach, then shooting the people in the building and Kasey flipped the table over for cover when they came through his door to kill him.

I also didn't ever see the guys in the van shoot the kid on John's hit. They shot John and then the mom, but the kid was looking for the lug nuts. So did they just not show it because that would be pretty rough, or is he hiding/scared and he doesn't know John is alive?

They didn't shoot the kid. I think he comes out and hangs out with John while they wait. Then John might adopt him or something along those lines but at the very least I think he'll come help John.

They were pretty clear about just shooting the mom. If they didn't want to show the kid being shot they could've shown John falling and have other gun shots in the back ground. They didn't do that.

That mom totally bailed on her kid. Best you can give her is she was trying to draw the gunmen away but what if they just focused on John and let her run. Must be how they roll in California...

re: Your last sentence.......... Same here.....or thought there might be something like a bomb inside of the horse that would blow when he shot it. Thankfully that didn't happen.

We don't know that anything Jamie's dad has told him was the truth.
When John mentioned Jamie's mom, that didn't sound like the same kind of person his dad was describing.
