Hell or High Water was excellent. Thanks for the reminder - I will put it on my watch list.Quote:
I've watched Hell or High Water countless times. Although, I'm sure this series is more committee driven.

Best line in almost any movie. Same lady from No Country for Old Men "That room's got two double beds!"Hey Nav said:Hell or High Water was excellent. Thanks for the reminder - I will put it on my watch list.Quote:

I'm also a bit worn out with a lot of the dialogue. It's like every line is said is some dramatic fashion, intended to be the scene ender, but it doesn't end the scene. Beth is the worst at this. She apparently lacks the ability to have a normal conversation, and replies with everything in some dramatic/sarcastic way.
John isn't dead.Ulrich said:
The only way to make Jamie's father's lines make sense is if he decided to kill everyone so that Jamie inherits everything. Then he made the right decision AND the king should be killed. He would have to be lying about his real reason for killing Jamie's mother, but that would be more consistent with what John had said about him (and John is usually right).
John was killed by a white guy in the back of an old van, which makes more sense for a white trash ex-con than for the Indians or market equities.
That said... awfully quick turn around on all the violence. If I had to guess, ME did the bomb, the Indians killed livestock, and the father assassinated John. Unclear who would have gone after Kayce. Too many things happening at once though.
Yep. Bullseye. Lots of folks are too young to remember Dallas - it was just as out there on the edge and everything was sinister, big earthshaking dialogue, nothing was anything but major drama, etc.Charpie said:
This "show" is the highest rated cable tv show. While we might be tired of the sensationalization associated with how the characters are developed, people love it.
Beth is in pain. That's why her character is written that way. You saw some of her pain leave. If she isn't a *****, you will lose interest in her. After all, its a tv show.
And no one dies, y'all. The show wouldn't go anywhere if that was the case.

This show is a mix of Dallas, Sons of Anarchy, and Deadwood. All in a blender. Just a primetime soap opera. And sure enough with the previews next week, here comes a biker gang.
Exactly. They have to move fast. In the old days (yeah, I'm old), a season was 30+ so they could have a show about something not critical for the plot. If Yellowstone were 30 episodes, they could have a show of the wranglers going to town on payday and that be the entire thing - just a "fun" episode.Charpie said:
And they can get away with a lot because its only 10 episodes. It's not like they have time to develop and evolve characters.
I dont know. There are a lot of good shows with 10-12 episodes per season that do a great job of developing characters.Quote:

Yeah, Longmire was great at that and a good example. Also, thought The Americans did a great job.AgGrad99 said:I dont know. There are a lot of good shows with 10-12 episodes per season that do a great job of developing characters.Quote:

On network tv or Netflix?

If you're new to Yellowstone, then see what all the hype's about by buying season 1 and 2 on iTunes, Amazon.com, YouTube, Google Play, or Vudu. Unfortunately, Paramount Network no longer lets you stream older episodes on their website, so your options are limited if you're looking for a free option.

Yes. It's finally addressed in Season 3.Capstone said:
I'm about midway through season 2, so I haven't read any of this thread, but do they ever reveal why Beth absolutely loathes her brother Jamie?
I can't imagine having that much hate for someone and continually reminding them of how the world would be a better place if they weren't a part of it.
