It took me reading up on the show to realize that middle aged Ulrich and old Ulrich were different actors. I thought they just did some old age makeup. Talk about nailing it. They nailed young Magnus and middle aged Magnus too.

I thought the exact same thing. Amazingly good casting.

So, I was doing a rewatch last week to get ready for the new season and there was something I didn't understand about Helge's storyline.

Ulrich tried to kill him in the 50s and left him for dead. The next time we see him he is in the bunker with the wallpaper, so the 80s, about to be sent back to the 50s.

Do we know why he was sent to the 80s? Does it matter?

Also, obviously that chair worked in sending him back to the 50s, but why did it burn other people's eyes and kill them? Again, does it even matter?

I don't think we know why the other kids' eyes were burned. For some reason I think that the chair in 54 was actually the improved version and the 87 chair was the prototype. Don't ask me how that makes sense. My answer would be b/c Dark.

This show is so perfect for a one week release and then discuss before the next episode.

Just finished rewatching season 1 and moving on to two quickly. This show requires a LOT of audience participation but once you figure out mode of what's going on it is just so good.


Maybe spoiler but you know...season 1.


I had a question from Season 1 as well. Is Noah Helges real father? When Helge is missing his mother is taking to Noah and clearly hints that he may not belong to Bernd. Then there is some hand holding and a look from Noah at Helge in the picture. Later in the episode Noah treats adult Helge a bit fatherly.

I'd probably keep watching and then come back with questions. There's a lot of season 2 spoilers on this thread.

I was actually suspecting that Daniel Kahnwald might be his father since he hinted he was sleeping around.

Oh I've seen it all. I'm watching for the second time while looking at the websites mentioned here. Admittedly it was quite a while ago and I certainly don't remember everything.

Why would she be so open telling him about not being sure Bernd is the father though? She says it like he already knows?

I'm not tied to the idea, I just found that scene odd. Her son is missing and all of a sudden she is talking to Noah about not knowing who the real father is.

There's definitely something there, but I don't think Noah is Helge's father.

This is what I hate about the season drop that Netflix does.

I wish I could come in here and discuss each episode with you guys in-depth. But I'm not gonna risk it.
