How long do you want to ignore this user?
Two episodes in.

My biggest questions so far:
How did Tronte survive the apocalypse?
Why does Stranger Jonas not remember travelling to alt world?
Why was Charlotte sent to 2053 but Elizabeth remained where she was? (When Jonas and Helge touched through the portal, they both traveled.)
Still don't have the foggiest idea who the new guy is that's killing everyone.

Also, either Tronte is obviously Regina's father or they are going REALLY hard on that red herring. Makes me think there might be a surprise coming.

Also note, there is a HUGE spoiler if you pause it on the family tree at the end. Wish I hadn't studied it so closely.

Also, never does my "replay" button on my Roku remote get more use than when watching Dark.

A lot of questions are not answered. Your 2nd one definitely is though.

Did anyone else laugh when when they showed Torben had a missing arm in the alternate universe. They might explain it later, I'm still on episode 2 but I laughed out loud when they showed him.

This concerns the ending, so don't look unless you've made it through.

I started thinking about all of the characters who were wiped out of existence. Here's the list I compiled: Jonas, Noah, Agnes, Tronte, Ulrich, Mads, Magnus, Martha, Mikkel, Charlotte, Franziska, Elisabeth, Jonas & Martha's son, Silja. Did I miss anyone? It's quite a sad ending.

Episode 5 down.

Me:

Jonas is dead?! WTF! There can only be one Jonas, so I have no idea what is happening.

Also, poor Katharina. Did not expect her to be the lake lady. (They totally faked us out with the shots of Hannah wearing the necklace in the trailers.) Such a ****ty life Katharina had.

Okay, I need some clarification...I am on episode 5 right now btw

Who are the three people going around killing people in different time periods?

I assume this ia already answered, but

by this point in the season, it's been either confirmed or heavily implied to be the son of Martha and Jonas. "The origin."

IMO, not nearly as ****ty as Ulrich's. That last shot of him waiting for her to come back - that's some depressing stuff

Did a binge last night to finish the series and these are my thoughts:

-Jonas and Martha's ending was perfect.
-I like the way they brought in the 3rd world to tie it all together. I was wondering if there was a 3rd world as they have been promoting everything in 3's
-I would have liked more details added at the end, e.g. seeing more of the tie-together scenes played out and not implied
-Claudia is definitely the glitch in the matrix, redditors claimed Claudia was giving young self more clues in every iteration which makes sense. I'm going to have to rewatch to catch them all.
-definitely didn't see old man Doppler as Regina's father.
-Silja was such an unexpected piece that tied everything together.
-all this because a genius scientist got lonely

Overall a great ending!!!

I've had a day to dwell upon season 3 and the series as a whole. Here are my thoughts and questions:

Claudia having the revelation that there was an origin world that was split by Tannhaus due to the death of this son was a bit too much of a deus ex machina for my liking. I think that cheapened the show's resolution a bit. That being said I still liked the show overall.

Did the show ever explain how characters were able to cross from one world to the other? Did they explain how anyone figured out there were two worlds?

In my previous post I listed the people who were wiped from existence. I purposely left Bartosz off because even though I think it is implied and the circumstances leading up to Regina meeting Aleksander are gone it wasn't explicitly confirmed in the show.

The running gag w/ Torben's eye/arm was awesome. I thought it was genius that it came up again in the last scene and was left unresolved.

I was bothered at first by Mikkel being so much taller/older in the 2nd world, but the show resolved it by explaining that things don't happen at the same time, and then Magnus further tied it up by tell Jonas that Mikkel was old enough to take care of himself.

Did anyone else think that Jonas and Martha were going to cause the accident that led to the death of Tannhaus's family and the show was going to end with a neverending loop?

A couple of times characters said that traveling had taken its toll on Jonas/Adam which implied that it was what caused his disfigurement, but once he arrives in 1888 he doesn't time travel again until 1921, correct? I suppose we have to assume based on the scene where his arm got burned that he similar events happened over the years which caused his face to get burned.

Lastly, my biggest question: What was the point of Noah and Helge kidnapping the boys and using that chair contraption on them? They knew the time tunnel existed in the cave below them, so why not just use that? The only thing I can think of is was it part of a plan to get time travel capabilities to get back to 1921 to retrieve Adam or was it simply a plot gimmick to set up the mystery at the beginning of the series?

It's 1:10 long and took me probably 1:40 to watch, I had to pause and replay so many times.

So much information to process...

Something that has been bugging me all day re: ending.

so will the Jonas being born at very end be the glitch, or will it be unrelated? Maybe I am thinking too hard

I think it has to be unrelated because it isn't the same Jonas - different father and all. It's a different person w/ the same name

I think the glitch was Claudia. She kept gathering clues on how to reset everything in the original world and feeding them to herself at every new iteration. She finally gathered enough clues and "glitched" by sending Adam to send Jonas to save Tanhuas's son.

Just finished the series. Overall, a very emotionally satisfying ending. In-depth thoughts below:

While the ending was emotionally satisfying (definitely cried as Jonas and Martha disappeared), I'm a little surprised how much was left unanswered. For example...

Who the hell Boris Niewald was, and why he came Winden
Who Peter Doppler's mother was

And how exactly did Bernd Doppler father Regina? That seems random as hell. Did we even see Claudia and Bernd interact outside of their meeting at the plant regarding the dark matter? They sure were not acting like they were old lovers in that meeting.

That one scene was very Interstellar. (You know the one.) Although I'm not quite sure I understood what was happening or why.

A pretty bittersweet ending overall. As mentioned in an earlier post, almost all of our characters were wiped out of existence. Jonas, Bartosz, Charlotte, Elisabeth, Fransizka, and the entire Nielsen family tree. But I suppose the happiness in the ending is the pain that is spared to Katharina, Claudia, and Hannah. But let's be honest, did Hannah deserve to be happy after everything she did?

The season itself was absolutely fantastic. I have to simmer a little more on the finale, but I would call it bittersweet and emotionally satisfying, but with the wish that some things were explained a little further. Sort of how I felt after LOST ended.

Just finished and also need to marinate on everything. For those that haven't finished yet, I just discovered the Dark website is spoiler free. You can select the season and episode you are up to and it is protected and shows you the current state of the family tree. Wish I had been using it during season 3.

Well, my first sentence was true! (Spoiler for episode 7.)

What's funny is that Jonas/Martha had nothing to do with it. Hannah's daughter Silja, is the mother of Agnes.

Boris/Aleksander was nothing more than a kid on the run after a murder that came to Winden to hideout.
Peter Doppler's mother is Ulla Schmidt, never shown. This is according to the Dark website.
We did see Bernd compliment young Claudia saying how smart she was and that if she wants something she has to take it. But you're right, nothing really alluding to anything romantic between them.

The Niewald last name was clearly done to **** with the viewers, Niewald+Kahnwald. I guess that is the ultimate red herring. But very purposeful.

Also, according to the site:

Ep7 spoilers: Hannah travelled back to 1987 after she got pregnant and Silja was born in 88. A little strange to not have explained that.

The only unresolved thing I'm a little annoyed by is Helge being someone's dad. Based on everything we've seen from that character I'd have liked to have known how exactly that went down.

Definitely another red herring. Everyone expected that not to be the case.

Some further thoughts on the ending:

It's so on brand for this show that the resolution is itself another bootstrap paradox. Jonas and Martha need to exist in order to prevent the crash, which in turn erases them from existence.

Even if Jonas and Martha had found a way to kill themselves, they would in fact just be ensuring their own existence. Pretty trippy, but imagine the frustration from there perspective. Also, I KNOW I'm not the only one who thought they were about to CAUSE the crash, right?

I binged the first two seasons of Dark a couple of weeks ago and finished season 3 this morning. What a ride!

A stolen comment about the ending I read elsewhere that I really liked:

So Tannhaus started all of this when he inadvertently created these two worlds in an attempt to bring his family back to life.

And in the end it worked.
