James Mangold directs a modern masterpiece that will sweep the box office, just as much as it’s about to sweep the Oscars next year. Congrats to the whole cast & crew!#IndianaJones #DialofDestiny #Cannes

Harrison Ford's last stand as #IndianaJones is "a terrific thrill ride". Here's the Total Film review of The Dial of Destiny: https://t.co/xFarORglsN

Also...Ethann Isidore is a star, and I can't wait for this kid to win an Oscar for best supporting actor in the next 30 years.

We're so lucky that John Williams returned for both Star Wars and Indiana Jones. His new score is another masterpiece and Helena's Theme is his most precious piece of music since Rey's Theme. Williams never disappoints. A master who moves with elegance and ease - just incredible! pic.twitter.com/PK0kV6iyts

It’s still very early on and the negative reviews are from the usuals who hate pretty much dislike anything mainstream. Expecting this rating to change soon. https://t.co/KrXY9obgBa

This one is just laughably positive and effusive. I really want it to be great, but come on.TCTTS said:James Mangold directs a modern masterpiece that will sweep the box office, just as much as it’s about to sweep the Oscars next year. there's hardly anything i could read on twitter or the internet that would keep me from seeing an indiana jones movie in the theater. the bar was set so low with the last one, that i cannot imagine one with james mangold not being a dramatic improvement.Aggie_Journalist said:
I'm more likely to enjoy it if I go in with low expectations, so I kind of hope folks trash it a bit

Has Kathleen Kennedy ever done anything other than double down again? The amount of hubris that she has from having to fetch coffee for Spielberg and Lucas is crazy.BassCowboy33 said:
The trailers looked really bad, so I'm not surprised this film is getting throat punched.
INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY retains the action, humor & spirit of the franchise even if James Mangold can’t measure up to Spielberg’s cinematic brilliance. Harrison Ford gets the dignified ending his iconic character deserves but Phoebe Waller-Bridge steals the show! pic.twitter.com/Dd264igQGS

For what it is — a vigorous, unabashed reboot with all the necessary beats and flamboyant diversions that fans of this 42-year-old tentpole actioner will require — “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” is fine as far as it goes. Last night’s pans were unwarranted. A good ride.

#IndianaJonesAndTheDialOfDestiny is a thrilling homage to Steven Spielberg's original films. It's an entertaining swansong for Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, he kills it once again. Its a fitting ending to the series. #Cannes pic.twitter.com/xoOS9HTxR5

It’s 30mn too long, some ideas are not fully realised and Mads Mikkelsen isn’t given enough to do but some of the film really is lovely and there are some fun nods to the old films that aren’t cheap or distracting. I’d give it 4 stars #Cannes2023

The best thing about this is that we finally get the National Treasure movie we never got AND the REAL fourth Indy movie we've all been waiting for. It delivers and doesn't overreach either - exactly the wonderful archeological adventure it should be.

I can also absolutely 100% say that Dial of Destiny is not at all a "waste of time". I am already wondering how many times I'll go see it again in theaters. The action scenes are all fantastic and it's the most exhilarating big screen experience I've had so far this year.

That's not going to be a problem for me. I am one who found Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to be as entertaining as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and actually better because it didn't feature a screeching blonde and an annoying brat, well, it had an older annoying brat.TCTTS said:
Some of you are overreaching to, like, four reviews from a snooty audience in France. As I said, give it some time before more common folk see it. Reactions are getting better and better…
how dare you...that annoying brat is a national treasure and now an oscar-winner!Cinco Ranch Aggie said:That's not going to be a problem for me. Ever since I read some jackhole's evisceration of John Carpenter's The Thing back in '82, I have been able to take any critic's opinion and punt it into the Grand Canyon for all I care.
