Watched the season 7 episode tonight, first time, where Michael left for Colorado.

It's our 20th Anniversary today.

Man, that hit right in the feels. What an amazing show these people put together. I am actually glad we missed it back when. We were just too distracted with work and babies and it would have not been the same had we watched it then.

Honestly, this is our favorite thing ever produced on network tv.

Jenna Fischer said on her podcast that when she told him goodbye they just instructed her to tell him how she felt about him leaving the show.

We've quoted "The Duel" ad nauseum and it really is an all-timer episode that plays on one of my favorite themes - Jim totally incompetent at actually handling being in charge despite thinking himself so smart and capable. All of Michael's idiocy keeps a lot of other conflict from developing and people are generally just too exhausted to do anything but work.

Regardless, have to add before Michael's trip to NYC:

Today's a big day. My presence has been requested by Chief Financial Officer, David Wallace. He says that he wants to talk about big picture stuff. And, I'll be honest, I have little or no idea what that means, so... probably bad.

So Mr. MuckRaker96...will be having a tournament for Office Quotes too?

Please? I'll even pay $1 per round to vote so you make some money off this.

Ha, I'll have to burn out on Star Wars tournaments first. I've got at least 2 more in mind.
The overall problem with not doing them simultaneously is that my workload has gone up with the social distancing mandates while my available time has gone way down with wife & kids home, and wife also having to work some from home. It is a great problem to have for financial security, but really cramping my TexAgs style.

Not so much a quote but a moment.

"The Deposition" was on in the background today and the entire "lunch" between Toby and Michael is such a perfect distillation of that relationship.

Toby starts off trying to empathize with Michael by describing how when his parents got divorced and how horrible of a position he was put in. And it's being built up towards this emotional moment with a heartfelt conversation. Michael doesn't say anything, he just looks at Toby, then looks at Toby's tray, and pushes it onto the floor and gets up and leaves.

This show is timeless.

Pam's baby episode was on today.

I couldn't find a clip, but starting with Michael's face when he walks in on the delivery until the end is hilarious.

The episode where we first meet Jo Bennett was on today. Michael sucking up to her by trying to be folksy was genius.

"Because, well, Jim. Where I'm from, there are two types of folk: those who ain't, and those who are knee-high on a grasshopper. Which type ain't you ain't? Ya'll come back now."

So, if I run the best Office Quotes bracket, what do you guys think the criteria should be. Just one person's dialogue? Because a lot of the funniest stuff is a back-and-forth combo, but that will get really tricky really quickly. I would suggest a tournament of favorite characters, but I can't see the final being anything other than Michael vs. Dwight, and that's no fun.

Maybe the quote can be more than 1 sentence but it can only be one speaker throughout? Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

I know there is a video of most if not all of Jim's pranks on Dwight

Not sure about cold opens. That would be 150+ so I doubt it.

"Today, smoking is going to save lives."

Is an all-time great quote. The whole pandemonium that ensues afterwards is great as well, but the literal and figurative spark that starts the fire in that moment is timeless great humor.

To top it off, I don't know if there's another 5 minutes of the show,l that shows every main characters true self so expressively.

Speaking of, we're also going to have to steal from the Dundies and do a hottest in/on the Office Bracket at some point, because I watched the second part of when Pam has a baby last night and Isabel showed up in that one.
