Has anyone else actually watched The Idol? It's definitely not a top-tier show (even bad at times) and has a lot of gratuitous sex and nudity, but I feel like the reviews have made it out to be one of the worst shows ever made. I wouldn't go that far though. There are even some surprisingly well done parts imo.

Sam Levinson has a great eye, or mind's eye, but he nearly always falls flat when tasked with creating characters, or stories, with any sort of depth. I think this is reflected in Euphoria in every character/plot line that doesn't involve either Cal or Nate; because of that, I haven't bothered with The Idol. The Weeknd (Abel) seems like a bad actor too, so that's another reason to skip it imo.
