It's pointless to argue about the Oscars - as the Old Hollywood adage goes, "nobody knows anything."
What we can say with confidence, however, is that the demographics of Oscar voters are changing rapidly and irrevocably. This is an extremely welcome development for Diversity, and this year hopefully bodes well for Green Book.
Concerning Black Panther:
In my opinion, Diversity is the only thing Marvel does correctly. I am far more a fan of Justice League, and Snyder. There's plenty of YouTube videos that do a great job detailing why Batman v. Superman is great and massively under-appreciated...mentioned by me here due to the atrocious tastes and takes constantly on putrid display.
Edit: all DC adaptations have been either triples or homeuns. Snyder deserves a nomination more than anyone on this year's list, including Farelly who is finally addressing Social Justice in his work.
