Some Bill Murray quotes that might give some insight into the movie..

He talks about the original cast only filming a small part but how physically taxing it was, especially wearing the proton packs. Also mentions they wear their original uniforms. And it appears this is officially a passing the torch movie. Does this movie end with the original cast reuniting to save the day?

Love how this one has a different vibe to it from the originals, yet keeps some elements of them.

Did anyone else grow up loving Ghostbusters?

Like have the toys, loved the movies, watched the cartoon etc?


I did, and watching this trailer for some reason... literally gets me in the feels.

It makes me so happy, that I'm going to get the share this with my boys.

I don't know why, I'm so emotional about it but it just makes me soo happy.

Sums up exactly how I'm feeling right now. My daughter is 5, I'd love to take her to this if she's down.

Am I crazy or is Zuul coming back?

I really like that trailer. Seems to set the stage for the story well without giving away too much and ends with a nice stinger. More importantly, it isn't a nightmare of jump cut action scenes and/or lame punchlines.

Yep, Ackroyd's voice at the end.

And hell yes, when the original hit...my god that blew us all away. I lost track of how many times my friends and I rented that movie and listened to Ray Parker Jr sing the theme song in the car on cassette.

THIS looks like a deserving sequel.

I'm seeing a few criticisms online that there aren't any jokes in this trailer. The closest was the marshmallow men making s'mores of themselves.
It does seem like they are trying for Stranger Things instead of the comedy of the original.

I thought about that too. But there's nothing that says it has to be a comedy first (I'm sure there will be jokes.). As long as it's a good movie, most won't care about the category it falls in

The original Ghostbusters is absolute lightning in a bottle. There are a lot of big differences from the script to the final movie. All of out favorite lines and moments were improvised by the funniest men on the planet at the time.

Trying to recapture that magic is probably impossible, and we've seen it go badly more than once. The scary/funny/nostalgia vibe of Stranger Things is super popular and successful right now. Going that way instead of trying to recapture the magic of original is much more likely to be successful.
