Yeah, wasn't directed towards you, but I see that sentiment a lot and imo it's unwarranted. I love the third act with the Statue of Liberty.

RT Audience right now:

Ghostbusters - 88%
Ghostbusters 2 - 66%
Ghostbusters Afterlife - 95%

Obviously, Afterlife has a very small sample and it has almost nothing to compete with in the theaters (for the people that love theaters), but it's doing well so far.

Just watched it with my 14, 19 yr old boys and we all loved it. Perfect mix of nostalgia while moving the story forward w/ new characters.

The entire cast was perfect. Jason R. .. nailed it. Recommend you stay through the credit for a pretty funny scene. Also, I love the OG Ghostbuster cameo .. worked perfectly and actually moved the story forward.

I plan to watch it again later in Christmas.

I'm a pretty big Ghostbusters fan and have seen the first two a million times. I thought it was fantastic. They tied it to the first perfectly with continuity of the story, the music, subtle and not so subtle throwbacks so that super-fans will love the small stuff but also people that aren't as familiar will remember. They did it right.

I think if you haven't seen the original or didn't think the original was as great as I do then it would still be a good movie but not like how I loved it. Saw it with my family and they thought it was great as well.

The movie is awesome and was honestly a beautiful tribute to Harold Ramis and the character Egon Spengler.

Original Ghostbusters is probably one of my top 3 movies from childhood. Watched the original a million times. We just got done watching this one and I loved it. It's catered more towards children than the original, but there was so much nostalgia built into this one for us 80s kids while still building the framework for the new generation. I knew Aykroyd was going to be in it, but when Murray and Hudson walked out I about lost it. I've avoided spoilers so I had no idea. I have no idea how they did such a great job on the CGI with Ramis, but it was nails. Only thing missing was Rick Moranis. Our 11 year old daughter loved it too. Definitely stay through the credits.

Enjoyed the hell outta it. Sets up nicely to continue.

And bring back the Scourge of Carpathia. Why not?

Saw this last night. Good time at the movies.

I knew absolutely nothing going in, so was quite pleased with the appearances of the original Ghostbusters, including Sigourney Weaver in the immediate credit sequence. I enjoyed the original movie just fine, but have never held it in high regard as I did with other comedies of the time, such as Airplane or Caddyshack. I hated Ghostbusters II, never saw the chickified version (and never will), but this one had a lot of charm and some good emotional beats with just enough call-backs to keep the Ghostbusters uber-fans happy.

Took my daughter to day to see it. Thought it was very good. First time in a Dolby atmos theater and goodness it was loud but still a good experience. Was surprised people didn't stick around for the scene after the credits.

I did have a question though regarding the guys showing up at the end with their proton packs. Didn't Ray tell the girl on the phone that Egon ran off with all of them?

Loved it. Such a great sequel to the orginals.

One question:

When all the ghost traps went off at the end, how come Egon wasn't sucked into one of them?

Got to see it yesterday with the family (kids are 11 and 8). Loved it. Like many have said I am also an 80s kid and have probably seen the first two about 100 times each.

I really enjoyed Afterlife. I think it hit all the right marks. Characters, story, the fine line in the middle of being serious and funny at the same time. Very good. I cannot understand why or how it doesn't have better reviews. Especially compared to the exceedingly stupid 2016 version. Just looked it up, and the 2016 one had better reviews!!! that is insane...the 2016 one was a joke, ashamed that I even watched it.

My only critique, and its really not a critique, more of a 'in comparison to the original' observation....was that it didn't have the GRAND SCALE feeling the first one had...with NYC and everyone in the streets, ECTO being escorted by police and army vehicles...the whole city/world coming together to fight a common enemy...this one was much 'smaller'...still really good...and maybe it sets up the perfect sequel that can have a similar feeling.

We shall see. Highly recommend GB Afterlife. Fun time for the whole family.

Not sure I could justify going again. Went to afternoon showing with my 8 year old and it was still over $35.

I just saw the one scene. Is there another?

yes, there was the one scene in the middle of the credits and then one at the very end that gives some clue to what's going to happen in the future. Only us and one other group stayed for that one. Not sure why, but I had a feeling they were going to do it so I googled it while the credits were rolling.

Considering how well it did at the box office domestically, I would say it will be greenlit in a matter of months.

I loved it. Like lots of others, Ghostbusters is one of my all time favorites. I was skeptical going into this but I loved it. Great connections to the original but stood well on its own.

A better title for this one would have been: Ghostbusters: Stranger Things.

Personally, I enjoyed the 80s Ghostbusters movies and Stranger Things, so yep…… good movie.

Great movie experience with my wife and 3 boys (8,14,16) a rare movie that we all enjoyed. The 8 year old is full throttle into it all now.

For me Ghostbusters was always carried by Bill Murray and Harold Ramis like Star Wars was always carried by Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher so this can't touch the originals but it was fun.

Finally saw it!

Loved it. Almost all of it. My only small gripes are..

I agree with whoever said that the main conflict just didn't have as much weight as the original movie.

But other than that, they did a phenomenal job.

I thought so too until I watched the original again this week. Felt very similar.

Saw it with my family tonight and we all loved it. This movie was way better than I expected it would be. Strongly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about seeing it.
Thanks and gig'em

Only complaint is it felt like they
rushed the encounter in the mountain. One second they're driving, the next they're inside the mountain in what seemed like should have been a bigger scene.
