It's utterly amazing that a movie can do as well at the box office as Black Panther did, and a couple posters on this board are still trolling with nonsense about white people having a problem with it.
I still don't know what was supposed to be SJW about Black Panther (maybe because my childhood comic book dork self was somewhat familiar with the character), but it's getting tiresome to see racism charges thrown around anytime someone says they didn't particularly care for a movie.
I mean, box office revenue has nothing to do with a quality of movie (just it's marketing appeal). Avatar and Jurassic World are prime examples of that.
I for one didn't think Black Panther was good and had absolutely nothing to do with social politics or commentary. I thought it was overly wrought in sub-par CGI, overt in product placement, and a bit lacking in the dialogue department.
It had some good moments, particularly any scene with the 'queensguard.' But there were some other just obvious flaws and eye rolling moments (the electric-cape shield and rhino scenes were suuuuuper cringey).
