Maybe he knew the cruise stuff was coming out? He does have his hands on everything and has political contacts. So he used Rhea, set up to fail as CEO, because she couldn't close the Paige deal?

Makes a lot of sense and they even alluded to that. Good call.

I'm assuming Greg revealed his hand to Kendall before getting on the helicopter, but I'm curious of the excuse/reason that was given to the family as to why Greg was leaving with Kendall...

Greg told Kendall about the blackmail when they were in Scotland (just before Kendal killed that guy).

And no excuse would be needed for Logan. He DGAF about Greg. Simple as Ken telling him to "get in." Plus he's also been Kendall's "errand boy" for drugs. Wouldn't be weird to see them together.

The satisfied and approving look of Logan in the last scene was perfect.

Favorite line was when Roman was talking to Tom and Shiv about Tom's Senate testimony and he said "you farted on your sh/t."

Any danger of this getting cancelled?

The ratings weren't great all season. Never broke 1M and looks about on par with season 1 overall.

Why isn't this taking off more?

Highbrow drama and comedy? Maybe just not enough easy slapstick and too few titties?

Curious also how many dropped HBO after GOT ended.

It's already been renewed for a third season (news broke back in August).

I think sometimes you have to get a few seasons in and then the followers come. They then binge watch and are anticipating the next season. By the time the 3 season rolls around, you will have viewership way up.

I'm hoping it does gain some word of mouth momentum. I've been pushing it with my friends. Fantastic season with one of the more fantastic season finale's I've seen in some time, so I'm hoping that puts some wind in its sails for season 3 ratings that will bring us seasons beyond that.

I don't know how many more seasons they can carry this whole story along before it starts to get stale. I think it's brilliant TV and I hope they don't drag it out longer than they should

I was just listening to the Oysters Clams and Cockles podcast talk about that.

IMO it can't sustain longer than 4-5 seasons, tops.

Rewatching the finale. This episode is a goldmine of quotes.

The scene of them sitting at the table throwing each other under the bus was amazing. I could've watched that for 45 minutes. So many hilarious lines and the camera work for that was perfect.

Agree.

I think with GOT off the air, a lot of people cancelled HBO, but this show really feels like it is hitting its stride. One emmy last year and I can see them getting a lot more next year. You can feel the buzz on twitter start to pick up.

Not sure how long the wait will be until Season 3, but I think word of mouth combined with the right marketing will have everyone binging Seasons 1 and 2 before the premier.

Kind of like Breaking Bad - it had a cult following and then really picked up steam in the later seasons and had mass appeal.

However, I agree with the above poster that a 4-5 season max is probably correct. Don't want to drag it out and have a GOT type last few seasons.

I love Succession but I think it's too much of a thinking person's show to appeal to the easy entertainment masses who fall for other shows like GoT and BB. I could be off but it's not the kind of show that everyone in my office would talk about the next day like they would other shows. I've casually asked around and thus far in an office of 20ish, I'm the only one who watches this.

Regarding the finale - we just watched last night. Loved it right along with everyone else.

I do think Logan was grooming Ken all season, but Logan wasn't sure what he was going to do. This was sort of a win-win for Logan. Either Kendall takes the fall and the company is saved, or Ken comes into his own and becomes a killer. I think the Logan smile at the end was his nod of approval and pride, seeing that Ken finally came into his own.

I also thought the Roman plot was interesting - him winning the day, but finally showing the business acumen to not take the deal - was kind of shocked to see him show such maturity there - but good for him. So who was that Laird guy and what was his position? I didn't really understand why he left just because they decided against doing the deal.

And several questions I hope they answer next season:

-How long had Ken been plotting with Greg? I kind of think it had been going on a while and that maybe Greg really didn't blow off his uncle.

-Are we going to see any more of the super-hero / mole woman team?

-Now that Ken dropped the bomb on Logan - will Logan take him down with the manslaughter incident?

-Could Ken have been conspiring with Stewy all along? I mean, he knew he was in Greece. And this will surely upset the shareholders and make it a slam dunk for Sandy and Stewy to get all the votes.

They're about to start writing season three and then filming begins "in the spring." So the earliest we'll see season three is likely October 2020. I could potentially see it being January 2021 instead, but I doubt it. HBO always debuts their final Sunday series of the year in October, and it would fit the pattern of debuting two months after the premiere month of the previous season...

Season 1 = June 2018
Season 2 = August 2019
Season 3 = October 2020

The manslaughter thing seems to be neutered from an internal Roy standpoint. Logan can't hang Kendall out to try as it would incriminate himself in the cover-up (which would arguably be viewed as worse than the accident).

The only way strategically it can be used is if someone outside of Kendall/Logan learn of it.

I still don't think Greg was brought into it until the flight back. The whole "i won't kill myself" comment, plus who would trust Greg to bring him in any earlier than necessary. As awkward as he is, the whole scapegoat interrogation on the boat likely goes much differently if he knew a grander plan by then. And yeah, at this point, Logan is all-in on the Kendall cover-up. That leverage in theory has sailed, although not to say he won't try to use it in some way. Trying to muster up a bluff is about all it's good for.
