The gist of it from the part of the podcast I listened to was that Varner didn't go into tribal planning to play that card

Before tribal, Varner and ozzy spoke, and Ozzy admitted there was a secret alliance between him, zeke, and Andrea

Edited out of tribal was Zeke denying this, and that he wasn't deceiving anyone. It was this that led to Varner asking the question

Another interesting point, Varner had no idea who zeke was, as his season didn't air until after this one was filmed. Varner apparently saw zeke as a Russell hantz type player, which is pretty far off

Also interesting from the podcast, Varner was shocked that zeke hadn't been outed or was out in his first season. He thought that the whole world aside from the tribe knew.

Did you listen to the podcast? I'm just conveying how Varner said it went down. It was a 2 hour tribal condensed to 15 minutes.

I tread a transcript from that show and Varner so misjudged the situation it's ridiculous.

So last week in exit interviews, Sandra mentioned during tribal that Tai kept grabbing his pocket, which gives it away that he had an idol. She said Ozzy saw it and I imagine everyone did. But they never even hinted at trying to blindside him this week. Is Varner that more of a threat post merge than Tai just because he's a schemer.

The other thing I've noticed is Michaela acting really childlike and helpless. Anyone notice that last season, or has starving yourself for 3 weeks, then eating for a month, and now starving yourself again really messing with her mind?

Had the exact same thought last night. Love the guy and have rooted for him every time he's played, but he's never learned how to play the social game.

I would like to know how the votes fell out, cuz it seemed like Debbie's extra vote was pointless. Did I misread that?

So it was wasted

Debbie's extra vote was pointless. They would have had ozzy out by 1 vote without it. They had a clip of her pre-tribal saying she was uncertain if they needed it but that she may have to play it anyway to make sure they had the votes.

Has the extra vote ever been the vote that pushed it over the limit though? It seems like one of those advantages that hasn't prove to be useful yet.

Agree. Between reward challenges and other quirks like the merge meal, it's not like Survivor is letting anyone starve to death. I'm sure the tribe is appreciative of the fish he caiught thus far and thank him for his service while they send his ass to the jury.

I think that was the point of showing Culpepper giving the Culpepper look when Ozzy talked at tribal. I think he was trying to play the social game, but Cirie just steamrolled him.

I know it's dirty out there and showers come on rewards, but if that hideous beast was trying to kiss on me like she was doing at the feast and afterwards, I would either drown myself, jump off the cliff, or jump in the fire to try to burn the feeling off. No shower would ever fix that (vomit).

At least we get to see Hali dolled up for a while. I would have called for the strip search just because.

Ever wonder why a guy like Culpepper even plays? No jury is ever going to give him a million. I guess just sure competitiveness in knowing you could make it to the end. But at the same time, he has to know that that he's kept in the game because you would be a fool not to take him to the end.

I suppose he could win if he made it to the jury and pledged to give the money to charity. Although I thought I read years ago that there is a rule in place that you can't promise the jury what you'll do with the money to try to sway the vote (I have no idea if in fact that is true but it makes sense).
