Overall thoughts -

Littlefinger is definitely worried about something that might be uncovered in the scrolls. Lysa did say out loud, in front of Sansa, about writing that letter for him. If Sansa finds that letter, she's probably smart enough to put 2 and 2 together.

Jon and Dany, great scenes. Loved Davos..."this is Jon Snow." Ha. You could see her balancing the desire to show him she's different than daddy dearest with the rage of him not kneeling. She is slowly going to see how different he is than any other man she's known. "We all love what we're good at..." "Not me." She gave him a very telling look.

If Tyrion was brooding this week, he's going to be back to drunken despair soon. He's not supposed to get outsmarted by Cersei.

Mel was definitely calling back to her meeting with Arya, who most of us expect will kill Mel. It's possible Arya somehow sees Varys and remembers that time she was hiding in the dragon vault. Why is Mel going to come back if she goes to Volantis?

Sam has definitely been given a task of copying scrolls that the old Maester knows concerns the Long Night.

Count another one in the creepy Bran scorecard. Damn, son...act like you're glad to be home.

Euron is probably my favorite villain right now. Taunting Jaime to his face at every turn. However, Cersei has no intentions of marrying him.

Finally, Olenna with the nut shot. She's straight savage.

I have no clue who to address first, but I feel ridiculous for even asking why his resurrection wouldn't be well received. Dany definitely caught it though. I wonder if Tyrion plans on prying further into that.

Some believe Melisandre is the red star in this statement from her in the books:

"It is written in prophecy as well. When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone."

--Melisandre, SoS, pg. 289

I think this is what she means by dying in this land in tonight's episode
Thanks for sharing this. This definitely gives context to the Varys/Mel scene.
So essentially, the red comet kicks off this whole mess. Jon is Azor Ahai. He'll be "born again" (resurrected) during a war. And wake "dragons" (Dany +3) from stone (Dragonstone).... wake meaning get their attention turned towards Army of the Dead.

If Bran needs to tell Jon that Rheagars is his father, why doesn't he just do it? Can't he just warg at any time into anyone?

He only needs the tree to go through time. I don't understand.

Casterly Rock: Taken by the Unsullied/Dothraki, but now seiged by Euron's fleet and without food.
The Dothraki have participated in no battles yet. Looks like they get their day in the sun pretty soon, if not next week.

1) it's crazy when he's already needing her to believe one crazy story. 2) possible immortality makes him a bigger threat to her

Great observation that those scrolls have to do with the long night. Genius thought!

Don't know, but they specifically said the unsullied would take CR and no unsullied were at dragonstone when jon arrived, however, all the blood riders were there, and those guys are the generals of the dothraki

The Unsullied are not trapped at all by Euron's fleet. In fact I doubt Euron's fleet stays there at all. they simply destroyed the fleet the Unsullied used. Euron's forces are also not going to hold a siege...they aren't land takers.

But it forces the Unsullied to traverse Westeros by land route....to KL or back to Dragonstone or wherever they go.

Basically it would appear the sea battles are over - that leaves little for Euron to do (hence he probably dies soon).

And Dorne and Highgarden are out of the picture and no longer that important. Likewise Riverrun is basically leaderless after Arya executed the Freys.

It's down to Jon in the North, Dany at Dragonstone and with her Unsullied/Dothraki, Cersei at KL.....and LF with the Vale army beholden to Jon at the moment. Oh and the Nights King and the Army of the Dead.

The field is narrowing.

Got it.

Still makes me wonder where they put all the ships, but that is good to know.

The Bran/TERaven saga has taken a nose-dive in my mind.

Although the show obviously won't address it, I'm curious what happened to the Baratheon forces and the Stormlands after Tommen died.

I was actually under the impression Casterly Rock was on an island, my bad.

So they're not trapped per se, only forced to move out by land.

And with the Dothraki still in Dragonstone, it pretty much confirms the only option they have. Time to take King's Landing.

I think it's been in a nosedive through most of the series. I rewatched every episode in the leadup to this season, and outside of Hold the Door, found myself FFing thru almost everything Bran related.

Had the same suspicion... it's work that needs to be done, but helps Sam as well... a little hat tip from ArchMaester Slughorn

The Dothraki are still in Dragonstone. The unsullied aren't trapped. Jamie even said they plan to fight them wen they march away from there. So while she's gotten beat, she's still got a big ass army. Euron's men are good on the seas, but they don't have an army so they are pretty much done in their role, IMO. They rule the seas right now, but that doesnt' mean much and the dragons will sink those ships in no time.

She still doesn't need Jon's men to win the fight in the south.

Kind of crazy how quickly things are moving.

One episode ago, Dany had her war council meeting with Olenna, Yara, Elaria, Greyworm, and Tyrion.

3/5 are out of the picture now.

I bet those dragons could carry some kind of sled with dothraki on them and deliver them into battle!

Especially if they tied a string between two dragons!

Or gripped it by the husk.

It would be interesting, now that Dany's plan have gone to !@#$, if she decides to go to the north to gather herself and try to create a formal alliance with Jon. But rather I think she is going to go full 'dragon' for a few battles/episodes.

WRT Bran, I wonder what he has been digging in to since his last session with the 3 eyed raven. Was his last vision the TOJ? Where does he get curious from there? Jon, The lannisters, Ned's death details?

No chance Dany goes north. She's about to take Olleyna's advice and be a dragon. She's gonna kick someone's ass next episode. Doubt it's kings landing, but Euron has a good chance of ending up as BBQ in the next episode, IMO.

No Dragonstone is an island - hence why Jon arrived by boat.

Casterly Rock is built on the cliffs of the coast on the West side of Westeros. Not far from Highgarden actually which is where the Lannister army went.

The Unsullied sailed all the way around Westeros basically...as did Euron stopping in KL along the way. the timing of Euron;s arrival was interesting though. If the Unsullied sailed when Yara/Theon did by by another route then Euron made some good time taking the out, going to KL, then back around to CR in the same amount of time as the Unsullied who presumably sailed there post haste..

I agree MBAR, it is highly unlikely. But her losses could force her to go a little rogue and try to catch her enemies offguard.
