Not sure why you keep trying to play goaltender; obviously we're dealing with only the top grossers of all time, so this is just levels of huge box office.

My point is it's well below some others on that list.

I have no agenda.
Isn't it above everything but TFA at this point, per the graph?

We really won't know anything till the weekend either way.

I'm specifically talking about the weekday grosses. As of now they are below TFA, Jurassic World, and Black Panther. (Except for Wednesday which was just above BP.)

But yes, overall, it's still only behind TFA.

I'm guessing it'll have a huge second weekend that should keep it well ahead of everything except TFA. (Judging by others, I'm thinking $130M at least.)

The only day behind BP is Monday, which was a holiday for BP.

Like I said, check your data, b/c it doesn't say what you're saying.

Though everything is still early.

I would really like to see what happens this weekend, but if I had to estimate at this point I'd guess that IW ends up somewhere north of $750 Million domestic and probably north of 2 Billion world-wide (we're at 535 foreign and China has yet to open). though maybe not... the France and German numbers seem low compared to the final numbers for TFA.

this box office stuff is fun and all but let's talk about what really matters: where does "Infinity War" go on everybody's MCU rankings?

At the moment:

1. Winter Soldier
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. Black Panther
4. Infinity War
5. Thor Ragnarok

I've only seen Infinity War and Black Panther once each, will be buying BP on digital next week and hope to see IW in theaters again so that could change things a bit.

Infinity War, GotG2, & Winter Soldier are probably my top 3. It may just be the current hype for IW.

GotG, Avengers, Iron Man are next.

Civil War, Homecoming, Strange, Thor 3, & Black Panther in my tier 3

I need to go back and watch winter soldier. I don't remember loving it, but maybe I wasn't in the right mindset.

My favorite thing of the movie is that it's not a typical Marvel movie with quips galore. The movie is very grounded and has a real storyline to it. I watched it for the first time right before I went to see Civil War opening weekend and it made Civil War seem like a bit of a letdown.

I'm not sure how many times I've posted in this thread my updated rankings for the MCU, but here is my latest. I've made a few changes to my last one posted soon after I saw Black Panther:

01. Avengers: Infinity War
02. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (was 1)
03. Captain America: Civil War
04. Guardians of the Galaxy
05. Iron Man
06. The Avengers
07. Captain America: The First Avenger
08. Thor Ragnorak
09. Black Panther (was 12)
10. Spider-Man: Homecoming (was 7)
11. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (was 9)
12. Doctor Strange (was 10)
13. Avengers: Age of Ultron (was 11)
14. Thor
15. Iron Man 2
16. Iron Man 3
17. Ant Man
18. The Incredible Hulk
19. Thor: The Dark World

I'm really torn on the top 2 rankings. TWS is the most grounded movie in this entire series. It is a political thriller in the same way that something like Three Days of the Condor is. And it is just a flat-out awesome movie. But man, the payoff of all the years building toward Thanos was so well done, so entertaining, that I'm finding it difficult to say that I didn't enjoy that one more than TWS. It's probable that this is just an emotional reaction of this moment in time, when Infinity War is going gangbusters in the theater and the years since TWS are getting long.

I bumped BP up pretty significantly after having seen it a second time during my 18-movie MCU marathon, which was a couple of months after I first saw it. When I first saw it, I enjoyed it as much as I could but at that time I was dealing with the death of my dad and just really could not build up any enthusiasm for the movie or pretty much anything else. But upon the second viewing, I really found the movie to be worthy of a top-10 ranking. I kept Spider-Man in the top 10, but that movie is still a whole lot of fun.

Just saw this today...and it DOES look fun!! Can't wait to see it.

Has anything been said about the suit WASP wears being completely different in color to the one shown at the end of Ant-Man? I thought I remember it being silver and blue, but this one looks like a drab green?

It's also got maybe my favorite action sequence in the MCU (the elevator scene) and goes in a really cool spy/political thriller direction. Add in Black Panther's intro and I'm sold.

I think my personal list is:

1. Ragnarok
2. Homecoming
3. GOTG
4. Infinity War
5. Winter Soldier

It's interesting though because Infinity War was definitely not a fun movie in the sense that Ragnarok, Homecoming or GOTG were, which is why I think I enjoyed them so much. I think it would be tops if I had to rank "serious" type Marvel movies right there with Winter Soldier, maybe edging it out by just a bit.

Agreed. I'd place IW in the grouping of Ragnarok, GotG, than any others in terms of silly good fun.

I like the political thriller part of the movie. BP wasn't in this one, but they do mention Stephen Strange as someone who will die via Project Insight two years before his movie.
