I'm not sure how many times I've posted in this thread my updated rankings for the MCU, but here is my latest. I've made a few changes to my last one posted soon after I saw Black Panther:
01. Avengers: Infinity War
02. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (was 1)
03. Captain America: Civil War
04. Guardians of the Galaxy
05. Iron Man
06. The Avengers
07. Captain America: The First Avenger
08. Thor Ragnorak
09. Black Panther (was 12)
10. Spider-Man: Homecoming (was 7)
11. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (was 9)
12. Doctor Strange (was 10)
13. Avengers: Age of Ultron (was 11)
14. Thor
15. Iron Man 2
16. Iron Man 3
17. Ant Man
18. The Incredible Hulk
19. Thor: The Dark World
I'm really torn on the top 2 rankings. TWS is the most grounded movie in this entire series. It is a political thriller in the same way that something like Three Days of the Condor is. And it is just a flat-out awesome movie. But man, the payoff of all the years building toward Thanos was so well done, so entertaining, that I'm finding it difficult to say that I didn't enjoy that one more than TWS. It's probable that this is just an emotional reaction of this moment in time, when Infinity War is going gangbusters in the theater and the years since TWS are getting long.
I bumped BP up pretty significantly after having seen it a second time during my 18-movie MCU marathon, which was a couple of months after I first saw it. When I first saw it, I enjoyed it as much as I could but at that time I was dealing with the death of my dad and just really could not build up any enthusiasm for the movie or pretty much anything else. But upon the second viewing, I really found the movie to be worthy of a top-10 ranking. I kept Spider-Man in the top 10, but that movie is still a whole lot of fun.
