I'll say that I'm one who usually wants them to cast as close to the comics as possible. However, I trust Marvel to cast someone who can play the role correctly, something Sony failed to do on multiple occasions. If her hair is died that color or another similar shade of red, I'm cool with it.

They've said how they wanted a Spider-Man whose life represented an actual 2016 NYC instead of what we'd seen previously. The Raimi films had an old aunt May in a house that would surely cost millions and an all-white student body. The new iteration shows a poor kid in a run-down tenament building, single-parent home, dumpster diving for a DVD player, and classmates as diverse as the melting pot NYC would suggest.

Totally support all of that.
I don't know much about women's hair, but looking at Mary Jane in the comics, that hair looks dyed.. I've never seen natural red hair look that red. Is she a natural redhead in the comics, or do they not even address it because it is something stupid to think about.

Digital printing processes have made it possible to get whatever tone you want now, but some artists likely go with bombastic red for MJ just because its nostalgic for them. Yeh the 4 color limitation was a pretty big deal back then. It informed a lot of decisions. The Hulk was originally grey, in issue 1, because of the limited color choices. But Stan Lee thought he looked boring. But red, blue, and yellow were all being used a lot already by other heroes so he made Hulk green to stand out.

Same here. Though, just FYI, I don't think that's an actual behind the scenes pic, or taken during the shoot. She apparently has a more of dorky, bohemian-model look in the movie itself.

Agents of Shield is also back in a couple of weeks! Great time for Marvel fans!
Bought Civil War on digital last night, thumbs up to Marvel for including a directors' commentary.
