I'll say that I'm one who usually wants them to cast as close to the comics as possible. However, I trust Marvel to cast someone who can play the role correctly, something Sony failed to do on multiple occasions. If her hair is died that color or another similar shade of red, I'm cool with it.

If not, I'll simply protest that Ginger Roles Matter. Stop taking from my demographic!

I don't know much about women's hair, but looking at Mary Jane in the comics, that hair looks dyed.. I've never seen natural red hair look that red. Is she a natural redhead in the comics, or do they not even address it because it is something stupid to think about.

Mary Jane's fiery red hair is mostly a hold over from the days when comics were printed in 4 colors. You didn't get a lot of variation in hues, so red hair was gonna be REALLY red. Digital printing processes have made it possible to get whatever tone you want now, but some artists likely go with bombastic red for MJ just because its nostalgic for them. A few modern colorists have attempted to make her more auburn or ginger, but its just a trademark characteristic in the comics now.

That makes a lot of sense! Pretty interesting to see how far comics have come in terms of illustrations/colors.

Yeh the 4 color limitation was a pretty big deal back then. It informed a lot of decisions. The Hulk was originally grey, in issue 1, because of the limited color choices. But Stan Lee thought he looked boring. But red, blue, and yellow were all being used a lot already by other heroes so he made Hulk green to stand out.

Bought Civil War on digital last night, thumbs up to Marvel for including a directors' commentary.

Has a standard extras section as well as a "choose your side" link where you can pick Team Cap or Team Iron Man. Each section has some Civil War featurettes on the character your choose as well as some from the discs from their past films.
