I feel that Spider-Man is not going to have much of a role in the Infinity War. I get the feeling that Stark feels he is too young and too green for this.

He'll have a cameo, but not much more to the main plot.

Of course, that's just my gut feeling.

There's some speculation that he won't have a huge role, because he had some Instagram post where he burned his script for secrecy, like he was done filming. But perhaps that means nothing, or that he's done filming for now and will be back later. He's going to be one of the biggest players after Phase 3, so I doubt he finishes his part in a year-long filming process in 3 weeks. Especially when Benedict Cumberbatch and presumably Chadwick Boseman haven't even arrived for filming.

There's also speculation, likely just as baseless, that Spidey will get the black symbiote costume somewhere in either Avengers 3 or 4, Something about a shot of him with the mocap dots on his face, or something about it that's different than usual. Would make sense, if either of these movies take him into space. The 90s kid in me is delighted.

As somebody who has recently made a lot of study in management, leadership, and personal growth, I keep coming back to something about Marvel.

This is the "2nd Habit" personified: begin with the end in mind. Or what is sometimes called the Big Hairy Audacious Goal. Marvel went so far as to create its own movie studio to achieve a super ambitious, industry-redefining project. They set such an outlandish goal, then established an incremental plan and followed it through without losing track of HOW they were going to do it.

You watch that video, and those guys are true believers. They're not jumping on a media trend or trying to take shortcuts. They take chances that others wouldn't because they see the big picture and how a talking raccoon can be a pop culture superstar while their competition can't make one good movie with their biggest star precisely because they DON'T have that big, audacious, shared vision.

They will be making documentaries and writing books about the MCU for decades to come.

Ramsay Bolton is the perfect Maximus.

Side note: I wonder if Inhumans could make their production cost back in the IMAX run.

I'm pretty Danny Rand is Dovahkiin because that's totally the Skyrim logo he has tattooed on his chest.

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/x-men/logan/hugh-jackman-would-keep-playing-wolverine-if-the-x-men-were-part-of-a149177

Quote:

Hugh Jackman has made no secret of the fact that he would like to see Wolverine team-up with Captain America and Iron Man, but with Fox holding the rights to the character that's simply never going to happen no matter how good the relationship between them and Marvel becomes. Now, with Jackman insisting he's done after Logan, we have some news sure to break your hearts.

Talking to ScreenRant recently, the actor was asked whether he would have considered sticking around as Wolverine if he'd been given the chance to meet The Avengers, and his answer was understandably a resounding yes.

"If that was on the table when I made my decision, it certainly would have made me pause. That's for sure. Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there's a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can't figure that out [laughter]. You never know."

Uhhh, comic book nerd question (likely already discussed on here but gonna ask anyway)...can Wolverine's claws pierce Hulk's skin? I mean, Hulk's skin is basically impenetrable, right? Or am I giving Hulk too much credit?

Yep, Wolverine can slice Hulk. Hulk heals quickly though.

Thanks.

Sooooo, in the current Marvel movie universe only, and I'm counting the Sony Spiderman and Fox X-Men movies as well as the actual Marvel-produced movies....who's the biggest badass?

Excluding villains like Thanos who are cosmic-level threats?

Tough to say. In the conversation would have to be guys like Hulk, Wolverine, and Vision. That's just in terms of how they're presented in the movies.

I would throw Scarlet Witch into that conversation too, even if she's not as strong as her comic book self

Professor X has to be on if not at the top of that list. Do his powers work on Vision?

That's a really good question, I think I would go with no though. From the MCU Wiki:
Quote:

the [Mind] stone granted its wielder the power to enslave others' minds
therefore, I think the Mind Stone would be able to overcome Professor X's abilities. I don't think Vision would ever go as far as to enslave Professor X's mind, but I think he would be able to keep Professor X from doing anything if he was so inclined.

Raw power wise it would be Hulk, Vision, & Thor.
You get into mind control and other abilities it would be Jean, Prof X, Vision, and Scarlet Witch.

I wasn't even thinking of the stone but that's a good point. I was wondering about Vision being synthetic, so does he have a mind that can be controlled by Xavier? I'd say no, and that might be Xavier's weakness - susceptibility to machines. Other than he could pretty much kill anyone with a thought right?

Obviously he's too grounded to be considered on par with those three, but in a fist fight how would Groot stand up to Thor?

I don't see Groot lasting 5 seconds against Thor... and that's not even including the lightning

Groot lost both arms to Gamora, but then he also grew his arms out and thrashed a room of goons repeatedly. So I guess it varies. I think Thor could dominate him, but then maybe Groot could grow to 10x his size and pin him down somehow.

The Weekly Planet has a few "Superhero Showdown" episodes where listeners submit two characters from any fiction and they discuss and decide who would win. All the James Bonds in a brawl, Venom vs Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, Indiana Jones vs Han Solo, etc. Some really funny stuff in there.

Yeah I'm talking hammer-free, "magic"-free Thor. Pure bare-knuckle brawl. I think Groot has an advantage in length and size no? And Strength?

This is so gaddamm meaningless, why do we spend (and enjoy spending) so much brain energy on this?

If I recall Xavier himself has said that Jean Grey is more powerful than he is, though she obviously has some control issues
