How are they going to fit the beasties in that tiny ship with the plexiglass tank?
Oh that would be great for popcorn while watching the inevitable fireworks over the raging debate on which franchise is superior.Belton Ag said:Cinco Ranch Aggie said:
Chris Nolan for Star Wars sounds good to me, but my snarky side wonders how he would work his favorite theme (time) into it.
They use space whales to go forward in time to San Francisco to save the whales.

I liked the Creator. It's no Andor, but it's not terrible.TCTTS said:
Because Edwards didn't end up finishing Rogue One, Tony Gilroy did. Gilroy essentially had to save the movie from Edwards' incompetence. And now having seen each of their follow ups (Edwards' The Creator and Gilroy's Andor) it's even more obvious the impact Gilroy had. Edwards is amazing with blockbuster visuals, but I'm afraid the guy just doesn't know how to tell a good story.

All fair questions, and just posting this from a discussion perspective (not being argumentative).
I was referring to Rogue One not being a core film as it's a sort of side adventure that didn't really leverage many characters that we know for the majority of the film, but I get you there. It obviously covers a key event but it's a lot of detail around something that had just been previously mentioned in passing.
I think Star Wars is in a weird place right now with none of the main trilogy movies really hitting since TFA so it's hard to gauge where things may go from here. TFA did a good job integrating the old and new and I'm not sure what the best approach is for that moving forward.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is your Tea Leoni from Jurassic Park III for me. Whenever Godzilla comes up, I know where your mind is tracking.TCTTS said:

I love waiting 3 years between tv shows, ffs.
Ahsoka season 1 - 2023
Ahsoka season 2 - 2026?
And then the damn movie in 2028? There is so much time for Disney to f-ck things up so none of it happens.
Diversity of thought is how the Empire pissed away the Battle of HothTCTTS said:
Unfortunately, because Lucasfilm apparently only believes in ONE person writing an entire series - and its subsequent seasons - this is how long it takes. Filoni is writing season two as we speak, which means it likely won't film until 2025, which means it likely won't release until 2026. Then after that he'll write the movie, hopefully film it in 2027, and then it'll (presumably) release in 2028.
If Disney would just do what everyone else in TV has done for decades, and have multiple people writing multiple episodes of any given season, with a single showrunner overseeing, they could knock it all out so much faster. But no, for some idiotic, asinine reason, only Favreau and Filoni can write episodes of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. Writers' rooms, additional creative minds, and diversity of thought (all of which also leads to better ideas) be damned.
