I have been greatly disappointed with the vast majority of what he has done.

He is great at broad ideas and in the execution, but he has yet to nail the landing on anything he has been associated with.

Not sure I want his influence that deep on Star Wars.

Agree. (Kinda)

I don't trust him to do multiple without using same gadgets, etc. Let him use ALL his tricks in this movie, leave it all out there on the table. Don't worry about the next flick.

What if he is actually post-op transgender, and was really Rey's sister?

Might be part of the reason he/she is wearing a mask.....

Also just remembered that Crowe was at one point considered for Obi-Wan in the prequels. As much as I love McGregor, an alternate reality with Crowe - and a different director - could have been amazing...

Back into the minutiae. Maybe the opening scene is about 9 minutes long? To show the 1 minute of next scene might not add anything. Or it gives away some secrets.

I have a feeling this opening section will rival Saving Private Ryan for intensity and awesomeness.

What if part of the intent is that they are already looking at potential actors for IX, and Crowe is someone that Lucasfilm/Disney is interested in? "Hey, would you like a part in one of the biggest franchises in history?"
