There are just countless number of screens in todays world compared to the 30's that had like, what, five or six total (I know, not really). I just find it odd... there was only a small % of the population back then that had somewhat easy access to a movie theater.

The reason is that it was frequently re-released, and since there weren't a bunch of movies out every year, people went to see it lots and lots. According to Wiki it was initially out for seven months in 1939-1940, and re-released in 1942, 1947, 1954, 1961, 1967, 1971, 1974, 1989, 1998, 2013, and 2014.
That shouldn't count, then. If it does, they should count the Special Editions of Star Wars that were re-released in 1997.
Uh, they do count that.
Oh, okay. I think they really should only count the original runs of these movies. But whatever.

I would think it possible or likely for sure. Rebels definitely introduced the idea of Force users that wielded lightsaber and used their hate/anger to fuel them... But they weren't "sith".


Regarding the Japan trains... Seriously, how do you even coordinate that kind of marketing effort. It's limitless the areas they are exposing the themselves. The manpower and money it takes to pull off this level of marketing is mind boggling!

You know, bumping the Hobbit thread got me thinking how fast this is all happening. That thread is 7 years old, and the movie was in development for even longer. The Disney purchase of Lucasfilm was in October 2012.

In three short years, we went from not ever expecting new Star Wars films, to having Ep VII a month from release, and two more films already in production. It's crazy if you think about it.
