Kudos to Dawn for finally making this season interesting! We will see if this season can remain interesting or revert back to boredom.

Last night was the first really good "Survivor-y" episode of the season.

Lots of people working good and different strategies and then someone getting completely blindsided.

Was very happy to see Corrine go home, she's been getting on my nerves the past few weeks.

Stealth-R-Us wins again!

The idols are going to have to come into play sooner rather than later now...

Guess she doesn't have her "gay" any more! I was glad to see her gone.

At what point does it start becoming attractive to hold onto Phillip with an assumption that there is no way he is going to get enough votes to win the thing? As goofy as he is, if he survives another tribal or two, he might end up making it all the way.

Day 1?

Yeah, he's just another kind of Russell.

There is nearly no time better to use an idol than when you are in tied alliances. The trick is getting the other team to vote for the person with it. When somebody comes out acting like a jackass all of the sudden, it's too obvious. Corrine was in a perfect position to make sure she got all of the votes. Just talk to everybody but Phillip about the prospect of blindsiding him. Somebody would obviously rat her out, and Phillip will make sure she is the one who gets the vote. Then she plays one of the Idols and her entire tribe votes for Phillip. Easy as pie.

The other alternative was for her to accept Phillip's plan to split the vote. He handed her the answer right there, and she fought it like an idiot. Then she would only approach the tight members of her alliance and they can easily outnumber half of the other alliance.

Best episode in a while! Cochran dominating the eating challenge and Corinne getting blindsided in all of her arrogance just made for some great TV.

How much does it suck make it to the finals of the eating challenge and then lose? You just ate a lot of disgusting stuff for no reason at all.

This. Phillip was handing her the option she needed on a silver platter, and the idiot was too shortsighted to take it.

I think they're going to have a final 2 this season. Corinne didn't make three jury. So a final two would allow for a nine person jury with no chance for a tie.

Yeah, I would have just taken a seat on the loser bench without downing a single grub worm in round 1. I just know my stomach and gag reflex well enough to know that I wouldn't have stood a chance at winning, so why go through the torture.

The look of defeat on Andrea's shipworm moustachio'd face was priceless.

Cochran dominating the gross eating is one of the most unexepcted things I've ever seen on Survivor. If he could get in front of a jury, he might be able to charm his way to $1 million

which is exactly why there's no way in hell they'll let him get that far

I thought it pretty damn funny when Cochran was talking about how eating all that nasty crap might be exactly what his love life needed. His celebration dance was pretty damned funny too.

cochran really benefited from having played the game before. he seems much more comfortable out there, both socially, as well as physically (surviving the elements).

he's also been consistently the most intentionally entertaining contestant this season.

Just wanted to support this. There was also a fantastic shot of her climbing into a boat during the same episode.

If that's true and there are any Hanz's at all involved I think that might be the end of my Survivor watching days.

I'd watch a show that was just Coach and Phillip being given an issue and having to discuss it.

In Cochran's first season, his self effacing "I'm a wimp" humor got old fast. This season, he's been able to make fun of other players and it's great. If they could keep him on in some sort of commentary role going forward, that would be awesome.

Philips speech about "the right person at the right time" told Malcolm they were coming for him. He freaked, voted for Reynold like he told Andrea he would so he could claim he was following orders but then convinced Reynold to give him the Immunity Idol so they wouldn't actually vote him out.

The rest of the tribe voted for Michael because Andrea panicked.

Dawn is now screwed because she lied to Reynold and he's coming for her.

Did I miss anything?

In my head, it was setting up to be one of the greatest moves in Survivor history. Malcolm, realizing that his days are numbered even with an idol in his pocket, convinces Reynold to give him a second idol just moments before Reynold himself is voted out. Then as the rest of the favorites flush Malcolm's idol next week, he's still got one left that they don't know about, and he manages to last long enough to swing things back in his favor.

However, that's not at all what ended up happening. Apparently Malcolm is genuinely afraid that they had all voted for him, so he plays the gift idol immediately. Reynold gave it up without much thought (as far as we know based on the way it was edited), and in reality both of them were safe anyway, with not a single vote for either player other than Malcolm's vote for Reynold.

Andrea pissed me off with the way she handled Eddie, Dawn is annoying as **** just like the first time she played, and what little hope the small group of guys had just went right down the drain. There's a slim chance that Dawn's breakdown next week actually plays out that way and results in her exit.

Just a frustrating/confusing tribal where two players who I thought were better than that clearly overplayed things and took a large step toward sealing their respective fates. Once again, the key misstep is telling Dawn anything.

Maybe just editing, but I seemed to have totally miscalculated Philip and Dawn. They look like total puppet masters.

Besides dawns projected breakdown obviously.

Agreed. I have apparently underestimated Phillip yet again. I still think of Dawn as one of the puppets though.

Cochran had me rolling for the 2nd straight episode - with his commentary on the Bro Alliance.

Brenda did not utter a single word during this episode, despite winning individual immunity.
