yeah that was kinda messed up and I feel bad for Brenda. but it's part of the game. look at that gif a few post up and she didn't have any problem laughing about doing a blindside.

My wife was pissed about the whole reward and then voting out Brenda. I kept telling her, it's part of the game.

They have to get rid of Eddie next. He has 4-5 on the jury.

When she said "But I honest with you guys..." after she got voted out, she was admitting how much of a ***** she was previously

Was it really that messed up?

Is she the first "honest" player to be voted out? Hardly.

Did she have a choice in the reward? Not really.

The producer manipulation was a little on the harsh side: "you win, now everyone can see 2 family members!!!! never been done before!!!!! or you can be a selfish ***** we guess..." Some reward.

But sacrificing for everybody else doesn't buy your way to another round in the final 6, and being honest and nice is a reason NOT to keep you to the end.

Sorry Brenda. Shouldn't have been so irrelevant this year. You were much better television the first time around.

I had nothing particularly against Brenda, but that was the right strategic move to make. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Cochran to pull through to the end.

Also, so tired of Dawn's melodramatic crap.

I like Brenda - for obvious and non-obvious reasons - but she was dumb to bail on the challenge so Dawn would feel better. The only way to guarantee someone's not going to blindside you at Tribal is to be wearing the Immunity Necklace.

I agree that the producers put her in a nearly impossible spot, sort of how they used to try and make people take the car or give everyone else the car.

I'm fearful of a Dawn/Sherrie/Erik final 3, because then I'll want nobody to win, and the closing arguments will be incomprehensible -

Dawn crying her eyes out; Sherrie saying how she has been the mastermind starting with Shamar, and everyone on the jury saying, "Who the hell is Shamar?" and Erik showing off the mental dexterity that has allowed him to rise to the title of Ice Cream Scooper.

I don't think anyone claimed that Brenda was the first "honest" player to be voted out.

I told my wife as soon as they gave Brenda the ridiculous choice of how to handle the immunity, "just take the barbecue... you're getting voted out either way."

Prevent four people from visiting with their loved ones, and you're eliminated for being a selfish *****. Let four people enjoy their afternoon, and your selfless act 1) pisses off one player and 2) makes the other four agree to vote you out because "at this stage, likability is a liability."

That's the part that was messed up. I understand the show's desire to add a twist, but they made it one of the more obvious no-win situations possible.

Also of note, Eddie continues to be completely out of touch on the voting side. He has no feel for that part of the game. With Brenda being the only real possibility to take the heat off of him, he casts a vote for Erik.

I didn't get the impression that Brenda quit that challenge. Dawn asked her to, she refused, and then minutes later she had tired out and lost her grip. Am I wrong?

Brenda said after the challenge in her interview that if it had been her and Eddie, she could have held on for a few more hours, but since it was Dawn, and Dawn's so paranoid, she had no problem letting go.

It's easy to say you gave up and let the other team win after you've already lost. Kinda like how Philip "intentionally" threw the challenge to vote out Corrine.

When Brenda told her Dad that his advice to "be humble" had worked, I really felt for her. I'm pulling for Cochran or Eric now.

Eddie's a meathead.

spot on GR. Had a very similar conversation last night, at that same point.

I just can't see how Dawn wins. I don't want to stop watching this show, but I know I will if she does. Someone make me feel better and lay out a solid argument why she can't/won't win. I just can't imagine Reynold, Malcolm, Brenda ever voting for her. She straight up lied to them all (and Corinne). I know that people lie in Survivor, but she has directly lied multiple times and I think it is to her detriment

Eddie just may win of he makes it to the finals. He hasnt blind sided anyone, he has 4-5 jury votes, and has hung in there.

The real question is how petty the jury is. If they understand if Cochran or Dawn or whoever else is left in the jury saying, I had to do it because you wouls beat me, and they arent petty about it, it will work. However, if they are, they will lose.

It all goes to how the jury votes.

The next immunity challenge will be something that Eddie and Erik shoukd win, with the last favoring Dawn.

Eddie might make the final three if a power player drags him there, because he is a dud. He has done NOTHING. He has zero control of his own destiny and is a just a leaf blowing in the wind. He is deemed "beatable" by the others.

Which is why he may get dragged.

But he has potential votes of Malcolm, Reynold, Andrea and Mike voting for him. Even while he has done nothing.

EW: Okay, we’ve got a supersized three-hour finale/reunion show coming up next on Sunday night, so give us a supersized tease on what to expect. The nation is on pins and needles waiting to find out if there will be a Fallen Comrades tribute, and if so, whether it will be by land or by sea!
PROBST: Yes, there will be Fallen Comrades but I am determined to find a way to get rid of it in coming years! It’s a good finale. The game is definitely not over. We have another big turn moment. The only person who I don’t think can win in any given scenario is Sherri. Sorry Sherri, it’s not personal. I just don’t see it happening at this point. Everybody else has a shot depending on which people end up in the final

what happened to her? At the very beginning she seemed to have a chance. I guess the mental grind took a toll on her

When someone fishes your fake teeth out of the water so that you don't quit the game, and you repay them by saying you'll never write their name down you should honor that. or just don't say it. Only a few more days and hopefully i'll never have to see dawn's ugly crying mug again

Agree that it was a low move on Dawn's part, but that's just part of the game. Great job on Cochran's part to convince her to do it.

I still think two of Erik, Eddie, and Sherri make the final 3. Eddie is the only one with even a remote chance of winning out of those three, so I've got to think that they will be dragged to the end while Dawn and/or Cochran are eliminated.

Which is exactly why he should have been removed last night. It's Survivor 101. It's happened several times in the past where a "do nothing" contestant gets drug to the final only to win by default because the jury casts revenge votes against those who are actually playing the game (scheming and plotting).

The final tribal is going to be ugly between Brenda and Dawn. Get ready for Dawn to break down again, and I expect it to be a big one.

Nothing has changed....Cochran, Dawn, and Sherri or Erik in final three. Eddie is strong, but the final challenge if he makes it, won't need strength. It never does. He won't be in the final three.

Rule #1 - don't even try to win the individual reward challenges. Winning those puts a big target on your back. Maybe when all the contestants figure that out and basically stand around until Probst has to change the rules to get them to participate in these winner really loses challenges.

I don't know that it was strategy as much as just realizing he and his mom didn't have a chance... but the fact that Cochran and his mom were just chatting about the flight over while trying to untwist the plank amused me a bit
Fat Bib Fortuna
How long do you want to ignore this user?
What would Probst have done if Brenda had just flat out refused to make that decision? Or had told Dawn - it's up to you?

No matter how generous and sweet and kind anyone is, who cares? You're ultimately on a game show, and when it's over, you can see your loved ones as often as you want. I get that it can be a big psychological boost, but that's just part of the prospect of it all.

Honestly, more players should do what Cochran and his mom did, use the Challenge to talk to each other, knowing pretty well they aren't going to win, and it's deadly if you do. Cracked me up when the mic caught him asking her how the plane ride over there was.

At this point, I don't even know why either Sherri or Erik would get a vote if they made the final; Sherri was the third vote in getting Brenda out, but that's about all I can think of her doing. Erik's biggest highlight this season for me is almost getting a coconut from a tall tree.

Dawn will get a couple of votes for running Stealth R Us for a while.

If Eddie was intelligent (he is not), he could win with the kind of argument that my man Chris Daugherty did when he was the only guy left with 5-6 women and made it to the end - telling the jury, look, I was the target from the day we merged, and here I still am. Eddie has been the target since Reynold went out, but he's gone and 2 of the arguable favorites (Andrea/Brenda) are at the Ponderosa.

That leaves Cochran, who has probably been practicing his closing argument in front of the mirror while his mom made flash cards of potential juror questions since the day after Richard Hatch first pulled in $1 million. As long as he gets there, he wins.

There is something to be said about building alliances who will vote for you and staying alive week after week because you let someone be the chopping block for you.

But, I think Cochran who is the only one left thinking, will not allow him in the finals if he has a chance.

Finally got to watch it last night. Great ep. So mean what they did with the reward challenge, talk about a no win situation. Dawn gets worse and worse by the day.

Can't wait for Sunday!
