We freeze-framed it whenever Brenda said "your second loved ones are here" and Dawn screamed "WHAT"?!?!

She literally looked like some kind of eagle-demon-woman.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I’ve always said there is little upside to winning the loved ones challenge. You either piss people off by not selecting to include them, or become too likable by giving up your own visit for others. And yet people keep trying to win the damn thing! Give any future Survivor contestants reading this a compelling reason to win this challenge.

JEFF PROBST: CONTROL. And often FOOD. Two big reasons that it’s hard to pass up. I agree with you that it can be tricky to navigate and if you don’t feel comfortable with your people skills or on the fly negotiating then maybe best to not worry so much about this one. No question in my mind I would play to win and I would use my power to negotiate. Nobody ever comes out and says — “How badly do you wanna hang with mom?” While you can’t enforce any promise in this game, it’s still huge leverage. Then I’d say to my mom “Love ya, mom, but I’m trading you in for a vote! I’ll see ya back home. Now scat!”

Probst is right. Hardly anyone negotiates the deals. "You want to see your mom, forfeit the next immunity challenge before it starts."

The final three will be Cochran, Sherri, and Dawn. Erik and Eddie are the dumbest players I've ever seen, make it this far. Erik can't figure out that he is not in the loop. Sherri and Dawn are totally worthless.

I know it's a game, but, if it wasn't for Brenda, Dawn would have pulled herself out of the game a long time ago. Brenda has been there for her and she screwed her over. If Dawn had come across as playing a game and not really having a mental breakdown, I wouldn't have a problem with her vote. She should have saved Brenda, at least for another round.

The great thing about Cochran is that he is in control and nobody sees it. Usually, the person running the game also runs the tribe, at the camp. Cochran just goes along at camp, all while pulling the strings. Outside of him, this is the weakest final 5 I think I've ever seen.

As previous seasons have shown, you never know how people will vote. It would be a total shame, if anyone but Cochran wins.

Who's it going to be? I think Cochran should have gone with Eddie, but he's going to win anyway.

How long is there between final vote and finale reunion? Brenda is hugely pregnant. She must have been pregnant on the show.

My question as well. She's basically full term.

Probably Cochran's baby.

Previous season finale was in December. Malcolm then went back out immediately for this season. So they started around December, maybe January.
So she must have been several months pregnant while competing on this season.

Malcolm said he was only back for a week before going back. That would have put it July to August. Brenda must have got pregnant in August as soon as she got back.

Cochran FTW!!

really glad i don't have to stop watching Survivor. Was it a clean sweep with every vote going to John? also, did anyone else see Rudy rolling his eyes at the "Richard Hatch" reference by Probst

Did they even mention Brandon vs Phillip in the reunion?
20ag07
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Brandon wasn't allowed to be at the reunion. That's why non jury was sitting in the audience and not on stage...to kind of hide it.

So when one finale/reunion airs, the next season is already complete except for the reunion?

I was impressed with Eddie's level of self awareness at his end. He sold himself the best he could.

I think the jury conspired together to try to break Dawn down and get her to admit to her crap throughout the game. Malcolm set it up perfectly by claiming his vote was based on her owning up to stuff. Everyone else did their part and then Brenda came in at the end with the teeth hammer. Really well done job by them.

Oh, and good for Cochran--played a good game and deserved to win.

Yes. The film 2 seasons at a time, back-to-back, so they are both finished before the first one airs. They then have a break, re-tool and film another 2 back-to-back.

They shoot 2 seasons back-to-back in the same location to cut down on costs. Russell, for instance, did not know if he'd won his first season when he shot Heroes vs Villains.

anyone else think blood vs. water means they'll have a family member or close friend on opposing tribes to start next season?

Thanks for pointing that out.

I was wondering why the Non Jury didnt even make it on the stage.

Props to Sherri for putting Erick in his place.

Its one thing to take crap from bitter jury members....its even worse to take crap from someone that did absolutely nothing.

While Sherri didnt play a "great" game....she ultimately accomplished the 2nd biggest goal in Survivor....and that is to make it to the end without being voted out.

And with the tease of "Blood v. Water," I'm afraid we will have to endure another Hantz season.

I hope not. Seems crazy they wouldn't allow him at reunion, but will put him in another season?

I think this goes down as my favorite season. Lots of good weird drama, lots of twists and turns, the people I didn't like got served and the two people I liked most won $$$. I am so glad it was a deserving victor this time. Props to Cochran!!!

Blood vs Water seems to point towards relatives. Seems like there are a few options with this.

1. The people playing together are going to be new people who are related.

2. The players are going to a mix of returning players playing with relatives.

3. All the players are going to be new, but relatives of former survivors.

3. To take 2 a step further, all the contestants are going to be people who have actually appeared in a survivor episode as a loved one.

I think Blood vs Water will be more than just relatives but an attempt to completely reformat the game, kinda like Exile Island, Hidden Immunity Idols, and Redemption Island were.

Just watched it on DVR. When the EMT said of Erik, "I'm concerned there's not enough blood going to his brain," I really think Jeff Probst had to bite his tongue in half not to say, "Brother ,I coulda told you that a long time ago."

I actually kind of liked what Brenda did with the Dawn’s teeth issue. Aside from the “you betrayed me” angle which is admittedly part of the game, she asked Dawn at one point, were you really going to give up because of something cosmetic? And then asked Dawn to prove that wasn’t the case with action, not just more potentially insincere words.

Slight spoiler for next season? The list of contestants I’ve seen is miraculously Hantz free.

^I'd rather have an all Hantz season than one with Colton and his boyfriend if that's true.

He did as much or more than she did. Without a poorly timed medical situation, there's a chance he's sitting where she was at the end. She did nothing and got laughed at by most jury members because of it.
