Anybody surprised that I am going to vote for the Toadies at Shadow Canyon? Didn't think so. I am certain I suffered permanent hearing damage that evening.

I still remember Toadies at Shadow. I sat as you came up the stairs to the left. I consumed many a chugger.

Also, when Tony's was in downtown Bryan, my roommates' band opened for Bowling for Soup there. That was a good time...

Tony's studio 5 was quite possibly the best venue for a local band to play. Tony was awesome to work with

Anyone remember Bun E. Carlos chain smoking on the drums? I had a friend that worked the clean up crew and he said the pile of butts was huge when he swept the stage.

Ag Kickoff in 98-Jerry Jeff, Pat Green, Run DMC, and Vanilla Ice.

Candlebox was also great.

The Nixons at Dixie Theatre.

The Suspects were great too, despite never having a large crowd. And Cory Morrow at Harry's is up there.

Never saw Sponge at Shadow Canyon, but the show at Wolf Pen Creek was weak.

What year was the Bosstones show? I assume they were in suit and tie even back then.

The Nixons at the Tap were pretty good, but not great.

I didn't see Sister Hazel in CS, but I've seen them a couple times in Orlando, and they are friggin' outstanding!

Cheap Trick in '81 had a couple of big curtains with graphics behind the stage that they changed out during the concert. It was a big deal at the time for lowly GRW.

Anyone remember their opening act: Novo Combo? I liked their music. I think they have one or two videos on You Tube.

But Rick Nielsen and Co. definitely rocked the house.

Not sure if it was the best but sure enjoyed the Nixons at the 3rd Floor Cantina.

Thinking about that does make me feel old though.

'94 or '95 I believe. Yes, they were all suited up and even had the guy dancing even though there was barely enough room in Stafford. After their set and during Fishbone they hung out and drank with the masses while handing out freebies.

There used to be a concert at GRW every Friday night on home game weekends leading up to Yell Practice ... prior to the concert scene changing and becoming cost prohibitive.
