I was there then, and don't remember this at all. I don't think AC/DC in '85 would've have opened for Hammer anyway.BennyBlancoFromTheBright said:

What year was that? I saw them at 3rd floor in the late 90's I think. Also saw them and hung out a little at Fitzgeralds in Houston.YouBet said:
Considering age of thread I probably already posted but I saw BR549 on the back porch at Fitzwillies with about 10 other people. It was a freaking blast.
Not a big name at all but it was right before they got semi-famous for a bit.

This +2. Still have one of the drumsticks thrown into the audience. Not sure why I kept it. Awesome show!
Now that being said, I must discuss the runner-up in the best "performance" category, if you want to call it that. I remember John Michael Montgomery putting on a show at G.Rollie with Clay Walker as his opening act. I remember this day because I went to the Chicken that afternoon before the show and there was John Michael Montgomery just hangin out and drinkin' beer. I thought it was odd that he was there before a show but I guess he wanted to have a few and chase some college girls. His "crew" looked very annoyed. Anyway...I ended up at the concert with some friends that had an extra ticket. Clay Walker was an awesome opening act...so awesome in fact, he performed for almost 2 hours. After a long "intermission", John Michael Montgomery found his way to the stage...and it is an understatement when I say, HE. WAS. FRACTURED. He was commode huggin' drunk. He fought thru 2 songs, forgetting words and dang near fell off the stage 3 times. After being boo'd during song 3 or 4, he was finally poured off stage. It was quite entertaining.
