great episode. season's off to a very good start

Good to be back...

Gary Cole is going to grate on me as an actor/character quite a bit, but I do like that they are opening up some of the MGA storylines with both him and Lloyd, as the agency stories are some of my favorites.

Any episode with Sloan is a good episode especially when she doesnt wear a bra.

Prediction: Gary Cole's drinking will be an issue this season.

Did anyone else think something would happen with Vinny losing his license and that DMV guy getting fired, because Vinny mentioned it on Leno?

Not much happened in this episode. I love the Lloyd story-line though. Would be nice to see him get his chance.

Good first episode.

1. Can see E and Sloan getting engaged.

2. Turtle and Jaime-Lynn moving in together.

3. Drama getting steady work and moving back to Queens.

4. Vince....I really don't know. I think the writers want him to become big, but something tells me, he bottoms out and fades. I really hope not, I don't want a bummer season....and truly, I bet he becomes a A list star.

5. Lloyd becoming an agent in indie-gay films.

6. Ari taking the head of studio gig.

gary cole drinking is definitely gonna be a storyline.

this seasons theme is 'everyone doing their own thing'. we already knew that so these events shouldnt surprise us much.

i think vinny might find his own real love interest here at some point.

Gatsby has already been shot, and will premiere next week (as shown in the previews). As Ari taught us during season 1, you always hedge your bets and book your next job before your current one is released, so Vince is prepping for his next film now, which he is already contracted for.

So I guess this picks up AFTER Gatsby is shot, but not yet released?

Yep. Episode 1 is after Gatsby has been shot. The "release" is next week. The DMV guy said he saw a trailer and Leno apparently got an advanced screening (As most Hollywood power-players do) or so you can infer by the fact that he said he saw and liked the film, but the premier hasn't yet happened.

HBO hasn't renewed it for next season yet, but that usually comes 3-4 weeks in after they get the ratings. Provided they don't crumble this season (which is possible since it follows the very boring "Hung" ) it should be back.

When you get into the 7th season of a show, the economics start getting trickier. 7 years is the length of a typical initial contract with the cast, so they have to renegotiate and typically get more $$$. (Not sure if this cast has already signed on for more or not yet.) With Curb supposedly coming to a close this season and none of the other comedies looking that promising, Entourage remains HBO's signature comedy (and is expected to pick up a nom for Best Comedy Series on Thurs) so I would think it's got at least 1-2 seasons past this one.

I think Sloane is pretty good looking, but I don't care for her character much. I wish she would stop constantly saying how she wants E to go out on his own. That seems to be all she has done since they broke up.

Man, I really don't see this happening, or at least I hope it doesn't. You may be right though, as it seemed like Drama had a pretty small role in last night's episode.

Some supposed spoilers I just found out:

- Matt Damon will be on the season finale in a small role. Lebron James will also be on this ep as well as Steve Nash.
- David Schwimmer will be on an episode as himself. As will Zac Efron and Tom Brady.
- E gets into a love triangle with Sloan and a girl named Ashley.
- Lloyd doesn't get his promotion. Ari might be getting a new assistant (Exact Quote: "Lloyd definitely wants a promotion and wants to move ahead," Lee said. "[He] asks for a promotion, but it doesn't happen, not by any definition of promotion I've ever heard of."

Probably so. For some reason, him not being tubby, and E having too much game, sort of bothered me. Times are a'changin..
