Ah, my old friend saltwater taffy. So tasty, so addictive.
But what could possibly go with a soft, succulent treat like taffy? Nuts, of course! Specifically, pizza-flavored nuts. I know typing this is just asking for trouble, but I'm a sucker for novelty-flavored nuts.
That being said, life can't be all nuts and taffy. My Santa undoubtedly knows that a hale and hearty man such as myself needs protein! Hence, the (mostly) exotic meat sticks; dare I say, the kangaroo stick will especially put a hop in my step.
Taffy, nuts, and meat sticks (I wonder - is there something on my Santa's mind?). That's a hell of a meal, but it lacks something, something to wash everything down with. Unfortunately, the powers that be in North Carolina do not allow direct shipment of alcohol, so my Santa had to settle for the next best thing - a book about alcohol, specifically how to make bourbon drinks. It's like a match made in heaven - I like to read, and I like bourbon. Though admittedly the more of the latter I imbibe, the less I am able to do the former.

For the record, the peanuts are really good. They taste like pizza, but like the kind of pizza you used to get if you went to Pizza Hut in the late 1980s for dine-in, and you liberally used the pepper flakes on the table.
As long as you like them! They weren't Deez Nutz, but even I thought those looked good. And the resealable bag was a plus.

It's also really important to message your giftee. If you don't know them super well, ask random questions and catch their vibe.
I want to work on this but I went from having a sick daughter to getting ready for my parents to come over, and now Mr Awesome is throwing up.
