It's an enjoyable exercise. I know there have been some risqu gifts in the past, but it's not terribly common. I'm pretty sure that Ajn had the ball gag on his list.

This. People don't tend to give "inappropriate" gifts unless they know you IRL or it's on your wish list.

Please don't let me scare you off. I used to hang out with the raunchy late night crowd, and I'm pretty sure I put that on my list the first year as a joke. After 6 years, somebody finally called my bluff.

From memory, I can tell you that I've gotten maple syrup, blueberry jam, and a child's drawing from Mrs.FlyingSquirrel, a bunch of neat cooking stuff from Celee04 (I think), and a bottle of very nice scotch from Lex. I could also tell you about a gift from Geralt of Rivia, but I know him IRL, and I'm trying to talk you into Secret Santa.

As a general rule, everyone involved in this is thoughtful and engaged, and while they might pick the weirdest stuff from your list, they will respect it, or at least use it as guidelines on what your interests are.

It's a good time. I've done it the last two years and had a fun time buying and receiving my gifts.


Just note that if I draw you, you're going to get a box full o religious* paraphernalia from me.
