go to an expensive elitist school and rack up a bunch of debt on a degree that wont matter so that you can go to another elitist school and get even more debt so that you can finally become employable and then complain about having high student debt? or, you can you to a school and get the professional degree and move into the world of employment much quicker. we all know which one you prefer. has nothing to do with being a diploma mill and everything to do with worldview and the role of secondary education.BostonAg74 said:The primary focus of most liberal arts colleges is to prepare their graduates for a post graduate education, usually for a professional degree. I think you'll find that a high percentage of grads from those non-Ivy liberal arts college choose that path. My wife got her geology degree at one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country, but they were not known so much for their geology department as they were for sending their grads to the best grad schools. Worthless degrees are only as worthless as the students who get them, and A&M has as many of those as any other school.Bayside Tiger Ag said:
A&Ms acceptance rate includes Blinn TEAM and PSA admits. Not really a fair comparison.
And I was thinking a diploma mill was a school that hands out worthless degrees.
I don't like what is happening at A&M any more than anyone else, but the reality is that it is being treated more as a for profit business than an institution of higher education. Being a diploma mill is better for the bottom line in the short term, so that is the path they have chosen.
NY (especially Queens) has the opposite problem and it's a bit of a cluster****. Queens Boulevard (not even a highway) is such a pain in the ass to get on and even worse to get off.Beer Baron said:I've never been so confused as I was the first time I drove out of state and couldn't get anywhere I wanted to be.MGS said:

Years ago, Burger King had a menu item called the "Texas Whopper." I asked what was special about it and was told "oh, it's just a Whopper....but with mustard on it."
So, I guess mustard on a burger is a Texas thing.

I don't care how fast or unfast you are going. The left lane is for passing. If you aren't passing, move back to the right lane. If you are passing, you are passing in the left lane.Win At Life said:74OA said:No, that's national.Win At Life said:Not moving to the right lane while driving 5 miles under the speed limit so people can pass.Tanya 93 said:

FIFY
That's not national. People outside Texas may stay in the left lane, but they are all going 5-10 miles over the speed limit. That, I can live with.
