No beans in chili. If you do, it's called chili and beans, not chili.

Texas is so diverse, it is hard to think of anything specific. It has it all, and all of it is Texas.

Great, now I want brisket. There is a Mission BBQ in Tampa, which is a chain but really good. It's just so far away.

Not moving to the right lane while driving 5 miles under the speed limit so people can pass.
No, that's national.

FIFY

That's not national. People outside Texas may stay in the left lane, but they are all going 5-10 miles over the speed limit. That, I can live with.

I don't care how fast or unfast you are going. The left lane is for passing. If you aren't passing, move back to the right lane. If you are passing, you are passing in the left lane.
Well, generally, if you're going 5-10 over the speed limit, you're doing a lot of passing anyway. And if someone is going 10 over, and slowing you down, you're going too damn fast.

Get in the right lane and leave those folks for the highway patrol to take care of. You don't know why that person is speeding, and it isn't your job to slow them down.

Where in Florida are you? If anywhere near Ocala, try Big Lee's brisket. Never had it, but I've followed the pitmaster on FB for quite a while and he does brisket right.

Putting Texas on everything. Having the state of Texas on a beer bottle, or a waffle iron in the shape of Texas, or a Texas edition pickup truck. Sorry Ohio no one wants you on their beer bottle. No one wants a waffle in the shape of Kansas. No one wants a West Virginia edition pickup truck.

Texas isn't as diverse as you think, it is uniquely Texan. It's just that we are overloaded loaded with American expats.

Great, you're still passing.

Quote:

Keep Right

Watch for signs on Texas multi-lane highways that read "Left Lane For Passing Only." These signs let you know that the left lane on a divided highway is not a "fast" lane; it is a passing lane.

After you pass someone, move into the right lane once you've safely cleared the vehicle. Impeding the flow of traffic by continuing to drive in the left lane is punishable by a fine of up to $200.

Disagree. If I saw an Ohio on a beer bottle, I'd be 95% sure the beer inside is better than the beer inside the Texas label. Ohio has a ton of great breweries.

Technically, isnt this a czech thing? North Dakota, Nebraska, and Minnesota all have some areas with pretty strong Czech ties like central Texas. Betting Kolaches are a big deal there as well.

I married into a BCS area Czech family. The food is a big plus!

Years ago, Burger King had a menu item called the "Texas Whopper." I asked what was special about it and was told "oh, it's just a Whopper....but with mustard on it."

So, I guess mustard on a burger is a Texas thing.

Sure, if you're a 7 year old.

God created yellow mustard specifically for the condimentization of a burger.

Like many things, the hamburger was not invented in Texas, but it was perfected here.
