People in other states put black olives on their Mexican food. It's a travesty.

Years ago, Burger King had a menu item called the "Texas Whopper." I asked what was special about it and was told "oh, it's just a Whopper....but with mustard on it."

So, I guess mustard on a burger is a Texas thing.

McDonald's did the same thing.

Kolaches
Technically, isnt this a czech thing? North Dakota, Nebraska, and Minnesota all have some areas with pretty strong Czech ties like central Texas. Betting Kolaches are a big deal there as well.

I married into a BCS area Czech family. The food is a big plus!
Yeah, but they actually use the term properly....
Fruit and cream cheese, no meat
I get that the fruit kolaches are the only "real kolaches", but give me jalapeno sausage w/cheese every day over those. Don't care what the proper name is for the ones with meat, but they're better. If I hear there's kolaches in the break room and there's no meat in sight, I'm disappointed.
That's the "Texas" part.

KLOBASNEKS. You ****ing heathens.

How can someone from Texas not know this is a Texas thing?

Both are better than P. Terry's (in my opinion at least) and are a good "fast food" alternative to Whataburger. Better tasting and gets to your table nearly as quick.

Apparently it's unique to Texas to have a dedicated lane to make a u-turn after getting off of a freeway without having to wait for two stoplights. I've heard multiple people refer to that as a "Texas U-Turn". I can't imagine why everyone wouldn't have that, but like others have mentioned they may only have on/off ramps every 5-10 miles so they're idiots all around.

The word "tump," as in "don't tump over that bucket."
