I think I read yesterday that only 6 states allow winners to remain anonymous. Texas, unfortunately, isn't one of them. I was suprised though, it seems like you should at least have the choice.

With a winning this big you have to hire the best estate lawyers in the world, and then basically have to move to a big city like NYC or London under new identity where big money is no big deal. So you do sorta die, your old life at least.

the state should allow you to go public with an alias and keep your real identity secret.

You can set up a new entity to claim the prize and have the attorney answer all questions and etc...
