We are well positioned to repeat with a lot of things rolling in our favor. A solid lineup, experience at the top of the lineup, SOLID singles play 1-9 and doubles experience joining the team (and reputation). We have several on the roster who had higher UTRs in the past than they do currently. As with the men, that UTR can change quickly. I'm not a huge fan of the UTR system currently. I think it's an indicator of future success (potentially), but as we saw in our last run, we were outmatched in every position except for Line 1. Desire, grit, and EXPERIENCE won that match (I'll throw in good coaching - preparation was key).

This seems to be the deepest roster we've had in a while. To be a fly on the wall in the coach's meetings and to watch the early season match ups at practice will be very telling!

On the Texas site she's only listed as a freshmen for 2026. Curious if that's a type or they really got her 4 years

Impressive that the south carolina freshman Lulu beat today had beaten WTA 335 and 457 to get that far.

Two points away in that first set. Once her opponent got it her confidence shot up and she was swinging for the fences - successfully.

I've been watching the tennis channel app. They haven't released for tomorrow yet but are showing many of the matches from today. Fingers crossed.

Now it's scheduled for the 28th.

I understand the frustrations for that senior class, but the NCAA had to make a decision. We are just getting over the Covid classes and now this seriously hurts juniors and seniors in HS looking for their next spot

Yes it seems like a mess. I actually hope this doesn't happen. But don't see how the NCAA stops it?
