Definitely a lack of match play attributed to this loss. Service return was killing her, but that lefty serve is hard to read. Good results, though, for Carson who hasn't played a match for 8 months. Keep the focus. Her serve needs to get a little stronger, but her groundstrokes are so solid.

I remember when she was first announced as an A&M commit and getting excited when Jayci was talking about how Mary was the freshman that would surprise everyone that first season.
Then becoming the #1 player on the team -> then becoming #1 in college -> then leading us to our first NCAA team title.

Good news - she will get a big court and a ton of exposure. Eala isn't someone to serve / hit Mary off the court. The experience will be incredible.
Bad news - many of the one dimensional pure power players in the top 100 would struggle with Mary's variety and net game. Eala is not one of them. Incredible footwork, focus and tennis IQ. Also one of few non US players that will have a crowd advantage over Mary.
House money and a great opportunity!
