Tkachuk opted out of a deal with the Flames and listed Dallas as a potential landing spot…No thanks.

Absolutely terrible and sickening. Heads should roll, and gulity parties should be permanently removed from the game, regardless of who it is.

Accusations of some pretty serious sexual assault/rape by junior teams and Hockey Canada has apparently been using their "Equity Fund" made up of registration fees by players to quietly settle lawsuits from the alleged victims without doing anything else to address the claims
Seems to be a general sense that more stuff will come out over time, too.

Klingberg fired his agent today. Interesting development. Maybe agent was asking too much or not working in Klinger's best interests? Sounds kind of similar to the baseball Freddie Freeman situation where supposedly the agent didn't tell him about a better Atlanta offer and he signed with the Dodgers
I've been thinking someone screwed something up somewhere. The only teams still rumored to be pursuing him have no cap space at the moment. Sounds like they tried to play the waiting game and it bit him big time. Not saying he won't sign and get a big payday, but he missed out on the best deal(s) he could have had. Most teams (including the Stars) moved on to their plan B, C, etc.
I would love to have Klinger back next year...wish they could have worked something out. Did anything ever come out about what the friction was?
Cap space. The cap is basically still flat, and the Stars have young guys that needed/will need new contracts. Klinger was the odd man out because everyone else is already locked up (Benn, Seguin, Esa, Miro, etc.)
I think they're really going to miss him this year, especially since DeBoer's system seems perfect for Klingberg's skill set. According to Nill, getting forward help was top priority though. Without the Marchment deal, they probably could have made the numbers work. Hopefully it pays off.

Good luck to him. He ended up in a crappy situation last season and his performance was abysmal. After lackluster couple of seasons, it was time.

We'd have to give up draft picks and high profile, promising prospects to make it work though. Not sure if Nill wants to do that.
**For me personally, I would like to keep the prospects (Bourque, Johnson, Stankoven, etc.) and bring in a high profile D-man instead. But that will have to wait for another time…

Kane doesn't really get me excited for some reason. Great hands and great passer obviously, but whenever I watch him play he seems to just coast around waiting for the puck rather than digging in on the walls.
