Some cool facts... it is our 14th STRAIGHT YEAR our men's 4x400 qualifies for the championship finals. It is our 6th straight year we have a 400 Hurdler in the finals, and 5th straight year we have an 800 runner in the championship finals!

UTEP third leg got injured on handoff. One Michigan guy stopped mid-race on curve.

FSU runner fell, TCU caused it. LSU got mixed up in the carnage. Dixon went wide and was slightly ahead of it anyway so we avoided any trouble

Dixon will have to run a mid 45 to give them a chance at winning. 46.7 is almost a 47 on a leg and that won't cut it. Maybe since it will be his only race he can improve.

Taylor,

I hate to ask you, but you seem to have the most information readily available.

How did we do versus your analyzed expectations? I know for the men this was expected to be a bit of a down year, but I was hopeful we could move up a place or two relative to expectations.

It also seems to me that most of the Arkansas' men's SEC meet points have really disappeared. Without analysis, I think LSU has lost some points as well, although they picked up an unexpected win in the javelin.

I like where our men stand, statistically everyone got in who was supposed to. Achane and Dixon were not projected to get into the finals, but had a chance to do so. It just hurt to see them both not get in. FloTrack had us only scoring 26 points for 7th and Track&Field News had us scoring 32 and in 6th. There's a lot of variables to play and all of it starts with the 4x100. Before Comick faded we were beating North Carolina A&T and looking like a gold/silver medal threat. I think we score top 5/6 there. Miller, Deadmon, and the 4x400 will be fighting for the podium, and Mpoke should win. I'm projecting us around 35 points, with a win by Mpoke, 2nd's by Deadmon and the 4x400, a 3rd in the 800, and a 6th in the 4x100. If we score 35, we should be 5th I believe, behind LSU, Oregon, Texas, and North Carolina A&T.

Anyone know where I can find videos from last night. ESPN only has the first hour of the broadcast available from yesterday so only 4x100 to the steeplechase.

Kiptoo going out fast and cool weather.

The weather was really good for distance running (not so much for sprinters). Kiptoo went out fast and there was a pack that stayed together, 5-10 meters behind him. The pack stayed with him and had enough endurance at the end to leave him. I think they said the winner has a 40 second PR and something like 8 runners beat the meet record. There was no game playing going on, they ran the entire race.

I know it's a very very difficult ask... but what do you all think of Deadmon anchoring the 4x100? Our other alternate I believe is Kirk Collins?

I would give it a try...we have nothing to lose. We will finish last with Commick running anchor anyway based on how he looked at regionals and last night.

Kiptoo not building his 100-200 meter lead to preserve his legs along with the runners scared to get to far behind him and losing out on a chance of winning a national championship combined for a perfectly paced race! Really curious how the 5k turns out!

Her jumping on fresh legs in the open long jump today can be huge for our ladies title chances! Her and Acquah are ranked 2nd and 4th respectively in this event... let's hope our girls set the tone!!

For those bored at home or the office, or wait something to see... the women's hammer is set to begin now and there's one competitor from LSU and one from USC competing. LSU's athletes is projected to score around 7th or 8th while USC's is on the bubble. Let's hope none score!

ESPN app running live stream of field events. You may be able to watch the running on the app as well.

USC hammer thrower finished flight one 8th out of 12. That won't advance, for the additional throws. Flight two scheduled to start shortly.

Now let's hope the LSU thrower doesn't advance, she's going in ranked 9th, but has been improving each week

LSU men did not perform as well as expected. However, they have field points we dont have. Hoping LSU women fade as well.

Emma Robbins of LSU will not advance to the finals of the women's hammer throw! This can prove to be very beneficial as I had her placing 8th as did other outlets! ONE LESS POINT FOR LSU! And in this meet every point counts!

Can't we get that freshman weight thrower from RICE currently in 4th place.
We just need a couple more options in scoring going forward on both men an women side

that would be amazing, I've been noticing a lot of smaller Texas schools are doing well. In the men's pole vault a Stephen F Austin athlete won with a Sam Houston one a couple spots behind him. An athlete I'm following closely is Zada Swoopes of West Texas A&M who's gone 184 in the discus and 58 in the shot put. It's sad that many Texas schools are outperforming us in the throws. Hopefully adding Bryce Foster and Katelyn Fairchild can alleviate that pain, as well as getting Nick Mirabelli back healthy. I have a feeling Henry is going to utilize that transfer portal this summer!

We start off the running events with the 4x1 at 5:32 CT in heat 3, going to be tough to make the final out of that heat. Next is at 6:32 again the 3rd heat we have two girls in the 100H with Kaylah Robinson and Summer Throrpe, it would be huge we can get one of them into the finals. At 7:00 the main event starts with Tyra, Deborah and Taryn competing in the Long Jump. It is going to be a great battle with fresh Tyra against Tara along with Deborah who always steps up big in the postseason. At the same time the 400 will be starting with Tierra and the birthday girl Athing in heat 1 against the 2nd best girl in the nation from that school in austin as well as some USC girls. Heat 3 with feature Charokee as the favorite. (the 800 will be next which is cute to see them race and find out who the 2nd best girl in the nation is) (also no aggies in the 200 but at 7:44 we are big fans of North Carolina AT&T, Alabama, Houston, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Miami. Basically schools that can keep points away from LSU, Texas, Arkansas and USC in that even with lots of athletes from our main competitors). Then we will finish the night with the 4x4 at 8:48 and get some rest for finals the next two days!
