Wonderful, amazing photos, sir. I especially like and appreciate the Christmas pictures. The children in them are now probably just a bit junior to you, but they remember American warmth; and their shiny, expectant smiles are timeless.

Awesome pictures.

I keep looking at those photos and thinking, "If he was my Dad/grandpa, I'd spend hours looking through his pictures and asking questions."

It's funny what you spot in those - the old Campus Theater showing bargain matinees of "The Man with Nine Lives" - an old Boris Karloff flick. The Elko borders around all the photos from - I guess - an extinct photo production company in Missouri (not much on Google).

I'm looking at the haphazard construction of bonfire and people crawling all over it and wondering how nobody was ever killed on one of those before.

I think those are Rangerettes. If it is them, they are a brand new phenonomenon at the time, having only been established in 1940. It would've been quite a novelty seeing an all-female drill team (the first in the nation by the way) on the floor of Kyle Field.

Still researching some of the events around these pics. But once again, I humbly thank aggie1944 for posting them. What a remarkable journey into our nation's past.

Also notice .. bleachers .. were wood back then

Predates these photos, but still interesting:
Edwin Jackson Kyle, Class of 1899 and the namesake of Kyle Field, used his own money to buy wooden bleachers prior to the first game played on the field, on Oct. 7, 1905. Two years later, he purchased a covered stadium from the old Bryan fairgrounds.

While I'm happy to share some pictures from the war, I simply ask that you respect my request to not ask me any stories regarding them.

You've certainly earned the right to that request. I would just like to point out to members of my generation and to those after that- its been 66 years since those pictures were taken and the memories are still strong enough to elicit that kind of request. That should be an indication of the significance of the sacrifice that was made by this man and many others. Let it never be forgotten!!
