18 hours since my 2nd Pfizer shot. Feel good so far! My grandma, MIL and FIL got it yesterday too. They also feel fine this morning.

Been feeling a little worse the last couple hours. Super achy, exhausted, slight headache and some muscle soreness all over. No fever.

My dad is about 12 hours after his second shot and no reaction at all so far. He didn't have any sort of reaction to the first shot though.

Update

About 24 hours after the shot, dad started to get tired and achy. He took some medicine and went to bed already.

Edit: Update to the update. He's up and back to normal.

Got my 2nd dose of Moderna around 1pm today. Hoping to avoid the same side effects from the first dose.

Got the 2nd Moderna shot Tuesday. Arm sore about and hour later and then soreness up and down my right side. Wednesday was like a pretty solid case of the flu. Slept for about 14 hours and had a headache when I got up on Thursday. Today feel totally normal.

I had fever, chills, and a very sore arm last night. Not as bad as after my first dose of Moderna but still unpleasant.

Curious if anyone here who had Covid has gotten the vaccine and what (if any) effects you felt? Similar to those described to the booster shots? None at all?

2nd Moderna yesterday mid morning. Felt fine until driving home from my parents about 8:00 last night. Started feeling brain fuzziness, then my knees and back started stiffening. Woke up this morning with all joints sore and grogginess. Feels like a really bad hangover (haven't had one of those in close to 10 years)

Wife - 50 ish - got 2nd Pfizer shot on Saturday, She's undergoing chemo and has low white blood cell counts. She has not had any symptoms except for a sore arm.

I had a rough case of COVID back in March 2020 and had a tough response to my first dose of the Moderna. Chills, fever, aches, and upset stomach that frankly felt a lot like when I had COVID. This lasted about 18 hours and took a few days to feel 100%. Had all the same symptoms with the 2nd dose but all were much milder. I am 3 days out from 2nd shot now and feel fine other than soreness at the injection sight.

First Moderna shot 7 weeks after covid. The day after the shot I had a sore arm, slightly feverish, fatigued, and had muscle aches - mainly in my back. Much better the next day, but lingering effects for a few days.

2nd shot of Moderna, only sore arm for maybe a day, shorter than 1st shot's duration. None of the other stuff. 50 YO.

I've seen two people in my office just this morning with a complaint of dizziness after their second vaccination. Will be interesting to see if that continues to occur vs an anomaly.

How long are most of your patients experiencing arm pain. I am coming up on 72 hours out and still very sore and have a huge red mark about the size of an orange on the injection site.

Not sure if I should be concerned yet?

I'm not in primary care, so I don't see nearly as many people with arm soreness as would someone whose office is administering vaccines. If the redness and swelling is persistent, especially if there is fever, you would probably be wise to have someone look at it as there is certainly the possibility that there is an injection site infection rather than just plain local inflammation.

Second shot just minutes ago. Arm already hurting significantly more than the first shot.

If I had to guess that would be more about the shot giver.

I might agree with that, but it was sore right away...and still is.

Have some neck and back pain to go with the chills

2nd Moderna yesterday at 12:00. Only issue at the time I went to bed was very sore shoulder...thought I might squeak through with minimal side effects. Not so fast...

Woke a 2:30am with chills and aches but no no fever. Just couldn't get comfortable. Sore joints. Didn't really sleep much rest of the night.

Got up this morning and thought I was improving. By 11am the fever came (102 ish) and more shakes and aches. Laid down for about 3 hours and took Tylenol. Got up feeling improved again and fever gone. Now back to chills and minor dizziness about 18 hours in total. Hopefully clear and back to normal tomorrow.

46/male. Had no issues after first dose.

[2/25 edit] Sweat through pillow and sheets the second night but all symptoms were gone by the second morning or around 40 total hours from injection. Back to normal.

SIL and her son had Pfizer #1 and #2 shots without any adverse symptoms.

Is my impression that Moderna seems harder on more people than Pfizer off-base?

I had a moderate covid case in October. Got the 1st shot Tuesday, very sore arm. Feverish starting Wednesday afternoon, bad headache, body aches. Still a little feverish, but mostly better.

Got round 2 last 2 days ago on Wednesday at 1pm. Fine until midnight (chills, fever, muscle aches, arm pain). Headache started next morning. Worsening fever all day into the evening. Woke up Friday and symptoms gone. I had Covid (mild) in October. Reacted to first round in same way. Moderna

I keep hearing conflicting information about whether or not I should take Motrin or Tylenol before getting my booster. I'll be getting mine on Sunday.

Pretty sure the recommendation is to wait until after and only if you need it because of the side effects.

My wife and I both got our #2 Pfizer yesterday at 09:45 am. I felt kinda dr**** tired around 4:00 PM but before our shot I loaded a 16' trailer of square bales and maybe was just tired anyway.
Laid down and took a nap till 6:00pm and have felt fine ever since. Wife has not felt anything but a sore arm.
This morning we both went for a two mile walk and all is good. Thank you God.
From all my friends and family who have received shots the Pfizer is no doubt less prone to side effects compared to Moderna.
Wife and I both had absolutely nothing with first Pfizer's as well.

Moderna is 3x the amount of vaccine as Pfizer, correct (100 micrograms vs 35)? Guessing that may have something to do with the differences in reaction. Given the effectiveness of Pfizer tested essentially the same (slightly better), I'm curious if they'll study dialing back the volume in the Moderna to manage side effects
