I think one of the best parts to that hard fought WINNING game to capture the series was that we didn't have the excessive whining today
I wonder how many of our wins have come in game we didn't homer in? I'm guessing not many at all.
Massive series win. Really impressed with what this team did in SEC play. If we can get healthy and if a few arms can step up, we might be able to make some noise.

He made some grown-up ass plays in this series that helped propel us to a series win.

Grit includes the double duty pitchers, three injured contributors, Chestnut, etc., etc. What a battle that was.

On a day where I figured we needed 15 runs to have a chance our pitchers got the job done. Awesome job closing out the season with so many guys out or limited by injury.

I don't see any way we don't get a top 8. Never got swept. One series loss to GA at Olsen. Three road series wins. 18 SEC wins. 2-0 against tu. No way we are lower than an 8 seed. Possibly as high as 6 with a tournament win.

18 or bust was what I heard from the people that know way more than me, so I think we are OK.
Even the broadcasters seemed to acknowledge that the Bulldogs would need a series win to be in contention for a top 8 and host at Dudy Noble. I think the tourney is going to test our pitching rotation a bit (just like this one did), but it shouldn't really affect our seeding at a national level, anyway. We have now supposedly secured the double-bye, so we should be able to get a little rest and go in at full strength, from an arms standpoint. Our team is still quite banged up, so hopefully that helps there too.

I am thinking we could be #7 -#10 seed in the ncaa tournament.
Winning the series finale against state to lock up a top 3 seed in the sec was HUGE!!!

6 would be great, but haven't seen that as a possibility from anyone. If UGA sweeps AU & AU goes 1 & done in Hoover, maybe. Same w/tu I would think.

I don't think the Longhorns will win their regional using last year as a measuring guide. They are not that good IMO.
Switched over to the Mizzou/tu game and good lord their game production is tragically bad.
Funny end to the thread. Guy says long shot for national seed (I'm old. That's top 8). I'd be shocked if we were NOT a national seed. 18 sec wins. Top 3 finish. It would certainly put us in a rare position.

They are on the same side of the bracket.

Agree. Going into this series I thought winning 2 out of 3 would get us a national seed. And it should.
If we are not a top 8 seed, the SEC will only have 2 top 8 seeds, unless someone finishing below us gets one. That would be a big injustice.

I don't care about Hoover; I'm angling for best seeding in NCAA. And I find it hard to believe the NCAA can leave out the team that finishes #2 in the best league.
