LSU has the potential to be as good as UCLA. Haven't watched enough of the others. UCLA is a really good team.

When people say "that's baseball" this is what they mean. There is a reason baseball seasons are long and matchups are determined by series. Over the course of the season last year, we knew we weren't any good. We have nowhere near a basis to evaluate this team.

Well, we were run ruled by Santa Clara in March of 2022, and that season turned out pretty good! Sometimes a punch in the mouth is a good thing! I just wish we would've played better, had a couples things go our way and been able to see how we really measured up against UCLA! A lot of season left and although it would be great not to lose another game this yr, we all know that's not going to happen! I will continue to support & cheer for this team & coaches bc I think they may just give us a lot fun baseball to watch this season!

UCLA score 8 of their runs with two outs. That's the difference in the game and they can hit with two strikes we can't and haven't been able to have plate discipline except for a few players DH or a long time. We are fine but we have to hit that lineup is missing a few guys. I think Duer and Havopian are the best hitters we have and they are not from our system.

If you've played/watched enough baseball then you can see the signs. I just don't expect them to be competitive in conference. I'd love to be proven wrong. From the moment they started warming up to the moment the game was over, UCLA looked FAR superior in every way.

I would say at this point last year, the truth was beginning to appear.

At this point, I see enough to believe this team will be fine. The approach is way better than last year, but those tendencies do still pop up.

If we can get Hacopian and Jordan back, this is a really good team. Without them, we're just decent.

My point was that it's baseball and teams lose games to inferior opponents all the time, even UCLA who is clearly an elite team.

Was thinking the same thing. Dude had 13 in 58 games last year. 12 in 59 games in 2024. .242 BA last year. Now he has 10 in 11 games….

I understand people can make a jump. But this seems like a fairly unreasonable jump based on his previous 2 years of performance with tu.

Not to mention the attitude…

I resemble this statement. We usually go to two or three Rockies games a year. Are they going to win? Who knows. They do play better at home. But it's just fun to go watch a game. The Rockies average over 2.5 million in attendance every year.

I didn't get to watch or listen to the game yesterday. I have no idea how the feel of the game went. So I started to read this thread to catch up. Then I decided to just read the last 3 pages to read how many Debbie Downers there are.
The way baseball goes, if we played UCLA again today we might beat them despite how yesterday's game went.
