WHY? No league should disallow a defense that, in their view, prevents base hits. To think otherwise, to me, is idiotic.

With the shift, you've got an entire side of the field covered by one infielder. If you can't breach that, its on you -- not the defense. Hell, a bunt equals an easy base hit in most cases.

Okay ags- just get on base. Do anything possible to get to first. Just stack runners. Stretch counts, bunt, hbp, walk, whatever you can do.

I think baseball should get rid of elbow guards for batters. Too many guys just throw it into the pitch.

Getting HBP is a trade off. Pain for a base.

Before this game, for as much hype as they've received UCLA only had 3 guys hitting over .300.

For reference, only one of our guys (Bear) was under .300.

We're hitting some balls hard but man the ABs just look different. They're on everything.
