Keeping Earley after failing to make the postseason with the unanimous preseason #1 roster AND getting swept at home by Mizzou was inexcusable. Vaughn and Godwin (and maybe others) had interest in the job - Kendall confirmed it. And then we backed down and stuck with the emotional hire whose primary job was to make a deep run with one of the most loaded rosters in program history.
Hard to believe Earley getting almost double John Savages salary. Plus he is paying California taxes.
UCLA fans are now arguing about what the run rule is. They are getting it wrong. I keep telling them and they are not listening. Dummies.

There was ZERO reason to give Earley $4M fully guaranteed over 4 years. Kendall also said the contract didn't be that bad, but that no school is consistently stupid with contracts like our school (which also happens to be his). IMO 4 years, $850k AAV, with buyout de-escalators after years 2 and 3 would have easily done it. Add some bonuses to sweeten it
